We are constantly working on improving the interface (versus adding new features).
Our recently arrived Product Manager is working on refocusing the product, just as you suggested.
As for the Twitter problem you mentioned, I only saw it when I had modified my twitter credentials from my twitter account page.
There might sometimes be temporary conditions on third party services we can't be hold responsible for.
I'm connected to all SNs and IMs we support, and I seldom have to re-authenticate, but a few users complained about this, which is why we are investigating this issue.

In case it's about the IMs, we had big trouble in the past few days while upgrading our IM server software.
It's now ok, and much more stable, many bugs were fixed.
We also had lagging issues when opening the sidebar, and if you closed the sidebar then it would be empty when re-opening (this will be fixed in next release).
Well, if you could spare a few minutes for feedback, it would be most welcome.

@Karen : there is a way to achieve this in Yoono: you can set any contact as a "star". The contact will then appear on the "My Star" contact list, with all of its original network features (message sending, profile page opening, ...).
It is not yet available as a one click option that display all of your contacts like that, but that also allows to put the people you interact the most with in a distinctive list.

@Nardusg : Gtalk will be back very soon ! It was included in our private beta release, and we had to test it more before we can deliver it to the public.

The problem with Google Preview is fixed ! It will be available with release 5.0.4 as soon as possible (there might be a release before that without the fix, unfortunately).
The RSS support is very close too !
