I especially love point #2. My husband lost his job (twice) two years ago, when the tide started to turn in the advertising business (he was in newspaper advertising sales). It took a while for him to find a new job, and eventually he ended up doing something that was a hobby for him in college (sports announcing on the radio). He loves it, and he's much happier than he was in sales.

Thanks for mentioning the big list of frugal tips from my readers!

Re: The Carnival is Up!

Thanks for the mention!

Re: Morning Roundup: Goals Across the Web

Thanks for the mention!

Re: The Carnival is Up!

Thanks for the mention!

Re: People Fail at Financial New Year’s Resolutions

I definitely think blogging has helped me stick with my financial goals. And resolutions will always fail unless you have a plan.

This year I'm working on actually setting some goals (not one of my strengths). I'm going to keep track of them on my blogs, and whether I fail or succeed, at least I'll have a written record, so I can analyze what worked and what didn't.

Re: Early Morning Roundup: Journeyman

Thanks for the mention!

Re: The Carnival of Personal of Finance is Up!

Thanks for the link! :)

Re: Overspending for the Kids

This is so sad. These parents are setting up their children to fail by not saying no to them.

What's going to happen when the kids go off to college, get their first entry level job, and can't afford the expensive clothes? They'll probably end up in credit card debt.

And even worse, what's going to happen when little Katie gets married and expects her husband to provide all of these things? The poor guy is going to have some high expectations to live up to.

Re: Weekly Blog Roundup, Holiday Shopping Edition

Thanks for the mention!

Re: Intuit Quicken 2008 is Here! I totally agree with offering full feeds. I usually remove the sites that only offer half feeds. I don't have the time to be clicking through to read every post. If something in a full feed is great, I often click through to comment, though.

Re: Sunday poll

I'm with paid twice. Reading blogs definitely gives me information overload, though.

And I think it's very important to carry a notebook or something, so you can easily jot down your ideas. I don't know how many times I've thought of a great blog post, didn't write the topic down, and then forgot about it.

Re: Sunday poll

As a stay at home mom, I work no matter how awful I feel. :)

Re: a tale of 3 grills

You should check your local Target.
