in My 5 Biggest Money Mistakes on Bible Money Matters
Other than the expensive gadgets, I've made all the same money mistakes you did. In fact I took out a $10K student loan for a degree I never finished....and spent all the money anyway. That's my #1 mistake!
How was San Francisco? I haven't been there in years. My family used to go at least once a year, but that's when I was growing up and lived in California.

San Francisco was beautiful -the weather was 65 and sunny the whole time, and we got to see all sorts of wonderful sites. We can't wait to go back someday!

in When did you have your Epiphany about your finances? on Bible Money Matters
That's a great story. It's amazing how big life changes, such as buying a house or having a baby, often make us more aware of our finances.

Money Matters
yeah, those big life events seem to have that effect. I think another time of epiphany was when we got married - but at the time it was more of a "whats mine, whats yours, oh my gosh we have to share money" type deals. :) The house was more of a BIG money event that really forced us to take stock.

in 3 weeks with Mint.com on Bible Money Matters
That's a great overview of Mint! I like it too, though it doesn't do quite everything I want it to do yet. I'm hopeful that it will keep improving though.

in Personal Finance Bible Verse of the Day: Storms on Bible Money Matters
Thanks for the reminder. I went through a pretty wild time in college too, and though I'm not proud of the stuff I did, I'm glad that God was able to use it to get me back on track.

in the myth of the parent that NEEDS to work on brip blap
I just posted about being a stay-at-home mom this morning. The first year I stayed home, my husband and I made $19,000. That's it. If we can make it work, almost everybody can. It's all about priorities.

in a tale of 3 grills on brip blap
You should check your local Target. We had the same problem and were considering a switch to a gas grill. While I was shopping at Target yesterday, I found a nice, regular sized gas grill on clearance for $30. We still need to buy a propane tank, but you can't beat $30 for a nice grill!

in 7 ways to stifle your creativity on brip blap
I find that reading books helps my creativity, and I haven't been reading enough books lately. Reading blogs definitely gives me information overload, though.
And I think it's very important to carry a notebook or something, so you can easily jot down your ideas. I don't know how many times I've thought of a great blog post, didn't write the topic down, and then forgot about it.

in ten tips for new bloggers on brip blap
Great post! I totally agree with offering full feeds. I usually remove the sites that only offer half feeds. I don't have the time to be clicking through to read every post. If something in a full feed is great, I often click through to comment, though.
