I’d bomb? Well I already did that and the world didn’t end, so I didn’t have much to lose.""

These are words to live by I swear! I have to remind myself constantly not to be afraid of failure. It's one of the best ways to learn. Great post.

Re: I Am Not A Woman Blogger

"Lots of women can write, read, and think. We don’t need to be congratulated." Well said.

Re: I’m going solo

Wow! Congratulations and good luck! I'm sure you'll be great. I hope you have time to blog about your adventures. :)

Re: From the Archive: Changing Majors

Aww, this is great! Thanks for sharing. I switched from Civil Engineering to English Education. Talk about having a hard time breaking the news to your parents. Then in my first year of teaching I realized there was no way in hell I wanted to teach. At least I was an adult by then. So I went to work for a software company doing tech support (I'd always loved computers anyway). And that's when the tech writing bug bit me. Five years later, and I'm still at it. :D

Good for you on not being scared to change majors. Or at least, ignoring that overwhelming fear and doing it anyway!

Re: Data Visualization Inspiration

This is one of my favorite data visualizations, even though it's more art than practical. http://www.chrisharrison.net/projects/bibleviz/...

Re: My UX Bookshelf on Flashlight Worthy Books

What a cool idea for a site. Readings lists like these are invaluable to keeping up with the latest trends in your field. And it helps you weed out the not-so-great reads before you waste a lot of time on them. :)

Re: Photo of the day: Calorie Counts at Dunkin Donuts

They just need to write it better. Something like "ONLY 260 calories" or "400 calories less than a McGriddle!" It's all about the spin.

Re: Twitter changes its email notifications

Agreed. I use the new info to determine if the user is a spammer. I like Matt's point about including the bio. That would be really helpful.

Re: Photo of the day: Bottom loading instructions

Ugh, forget the bad grammar and jargon. I can't get past the yellow text on red background! My eyes are hurting just trying to focus on that. And what's up with using all caps?

Re: Photo of the day: Cigarette vending machine

I love the label "Credits for dollar bills." It's like a video game - you have 4 credits left.

Re: Mentors and Heroes

What a great idea! You should share your experience with the restaurant. They may not even be aware. I'd just send them this blog post. It's a great (and fair) take on your experience.

Re: Web Writing for Dummies, Smarties, Oldies, and Newbies

This is great.
