in Imagining the Tenth Dimension on Xlog
You should check out "Flatland" by Edwin Abbott. It is a short read and explains our inability to perceive higher dimensions by telling a story of a two-dimensional character visited by a three-dimensional character (a sphere). Same concept as used in the flash story here.
