I'm on the west coast, and I was listening before when I posted and now I'm watching it.

Before I was so disgusted with Gibson and Stephanopoulos (and still am) that I hardly noticed Clinton's despicable Ayers diatribe.

Scumbbag Gibson saying he's so sorry they've paid soooo much attention to Obama that he hasn't given Clinton enough chance to talk. Prick.

I may be totally alone in this thinking, but I actually think Rev. Wright being more public is good for Obama. Whatever people's impression or opinion of him, for good or ill, Rev. Wright becomes more his own person and less an appendage of Obama, which is how people unfamiliar with him prior to this see him. Now he's becoming his own person, in everyone's mind, who must be judged for himself.

I admire Obama for coming to the defense of his wife, and putting the focus on his record, policy proposals, etc. But as long as Michele is publicly campaigning for him and giving speeches, her words are open to evaluation, criticism.

Just to clarify my earlier comments: I think the GOP attack on Michelle's quote about being proud is a ridiculous, baseless smear campaign. My point was that as long as she puts herself out as a representative of the campaign, her words will be used against her by Obama's opponents.

I have to say I think it was a decent speech. I agree with Chris Matthews, she gave a pragmatic, steely speech that sent a message to her supporters that they need to elect a Dem, no matter how pissed off they are that that Dem is not Clinton. If she telegraphed the message that she'll be back in 2012 or 2016, that's OK, because the overt message was that in the meantime we need to elect Obama. This speech had to be about converting her supporters. Now we'll see if she campaigns as hard for Obama as she promised.

I think he took Sasha's birthday off, and since then he's been all over the map, holding one-on-ones with families, visiting hospitals, attending fundraising dinners, and taking over the DNC ;-)

You can disagree with his sentiment, but he's said this numerous times in numerous venues. Why the surprise? Why didn't you call him on it before? And how is it political pandering if he's been saying the same thing for years?

Disagree with him all you want, but don't act like it's a sudden, horrible change in him that has you reconsidering your support.
