I think that the culture of sharing is enriching and creating new opportunities.  The actual sociological models can't be compared with traditional ones, as there wasn't a way to interact that fast and direct.  Joining the amateur conversation is joining a conversation driven by passion, instead of a conversation driven by belief/disbelief or knowing and not knowing.
