This looks very promising. Once this gets more developed and more streamline within WordPress, will you then stop mentioning the H word? lol

in Cross Platform Themes: WordPress & Habari on Fun with WordPress
Choice number three seemed most logical compared to the others but why not simply build two of the same themes for both platforms?
I've been playing with habari's theme system too and found that the differnces between habari and wordpress differ enough to separate the two and build each theme accordingly. K2 did the same. The benefits of having one universal theme work with all sounds great, but sports too many cons IMO.

in Chaining Child Themes on Fun with WordPress
This sounds similar to what Alex King developed with his Carrington Theme framework.
It seems like it was built with the mindset of modular development. Adding pieces together to deliver content base on what is requested. It's definitely a different approah from child theming, but the same idea nonetheless.

Any idea if threaded comments include trackbacks and pingbacks inline or do they get separated from the comments?

in Microformat Pingbacks on Fun with WordPress
Wow, interesting concept for using microformats! I'll try to figure a way out to implement this when I get home, this should serve as an interesting project.

in Where Next for the Default Theme? on Fun with WordPress
Interesting ideas for a new default theme.
Yeah the sandbox, while awesome, shouldn't really be used for the defacto install of WordPress. Maybe a subset of the sandbox? That wouldn't be so bad now would it?

great write up on the mockup process, I can learn a lot from you.
I love to hear, read, and write about the experience of how people (and I) go about when creating their projects. It's all about the user experience!

in Basic Theme Requirements on Fun with WordPress
haha, fremium theme? please, we don't need another coin tossed around the commnuity. lol
I like this list, and assuming if these are the minimum requirements for a "freemium theme," then they should be inculded into Premium Themes too. HOWEVER, I don't think a list of standards should inculde any specifics such as sizes of sidebar width. Doing so will only limit a designer and that's not what standards are for.
P.S. I updated my post, "What does Premium in Premium Wordpress Themes mean?" and included a link to this one.

in Divine Proportions on Fun with WordPress
interesting read. I'd like to add that sidebars vary by its use. It has different meanings for different people. Some use it to try out the latest widget (which'll lead to bigger sidebars), while others might just have to fit ads conforming to IAB standards (which'll lead to smaller sidebars).
Of course there is more to this equation but just by understanding it's use, maybe you can catogorize them under types and then it might not vary soo much. see where I'm going?
