Thanks for your comment, RichardA. It makes me think I didn't say enough good things about the wine and the particular winemaker from Bodegas Enguera, Chema García de la Cuadra. A year or more ago Chema refused to let me try a wine he'd made from another forgotten local grape, Embolicaire, because he wasn't satisfied with the results. So it's more than just making wine from any local grape as a curiosity. His enthusiasm for Verdil has taken a further twist with the production of a Verdil "vi de gel" or icewine - quite an undertaking in those hot highlands.

in Book Review - Valencia Land of Wine by Joan C. Martin on Catavino
Hi Ryan, thanks for your review. When you get the chance come down to Valencia and try some of the wines you haven't got around to yet (had a wonderful visit to the great Alicante wine visionary Felipe Gutierrez de la Vega the day before yesterday - St. Vincent, patron of Valencia). Sorry that you felt the book should have an index - I have compiled many indexes in my time, but I thought that it might overburden this book. However, it may be of use to know that the text is searchable in Google Books and on the Amazon sites in their "Search Inside This Book" program.
