My copy of the book is on its way. Lucky for me, an Amazon.com distribution center is down the road. Shame they don't allow pick-ups.

Re: Higher-Speed Internet

When our DSL provider increased our speeds, initially it was 3Mb up and down. Then, after everyone was converted to the new speeds, they dropped my upload to 768kb. Oh well, can't have everything.. :)

My only complaint with our DSL is that you must pay for a landline, even though we rarely use it.

Re: Underscores make a difference

So tell me, how does this article know I linked to you? Some of the comments I agree with and some seem way off:

PostgreSQL is much more suitable for the casual database developer.
-- I'm a DBA, so I can't see the difference in programming Oracle or Postgres.

PostgreSQL has a solid set of features that includes most, if not all, of what developers would ever use.
-- Oy, just because that's all they currently use doesn't mean that's all they should use. If this were the case, then just what are Oracle Corp's (or Postgres or MS) developers working on?

Let's all go back to flat files and skip all this complex relational stuff. :)

Re: Is it true that anyone can contribute to Wikipedia?

That's why I don't trust Wikipedia entirely. You gather a few billion (maybe million, who knows) people who claim to know things and entering data. Some of the data is accurate while some is not. It's more or less a holding cell for data on what the popular vote holds. In their own terms, you can't change things constantly, so you can have the correct facts and enter them, only to have many more people change it back to something else. I trust it as much as I do Microsoft.

Re: You Have Egg on Your Chin

Well, even in the US, there are different dialects.
