Great topic. Please include people like me who don't work for the utility or get paid 100K as a coporation commission member.
They didn't mention the huge incentives we give to coal, natural gas and nuclear. In fact nuclear is the higest cost power in the world. The G8 summit calaculated it at 50 cents a kilowatt hour !
Also no one mentioed the huge water use to make energy from colar NG and nuclear.
I run my home on grid tied solar and actually help the power company. Look at the California LUZ thermal solar plants. We need some utilities with vision.
We have giga watts of ecess power at night becuase you can't ramp up or down fossil fuel and nuclear plants.
Also look at the pollution make from the technologies. There is so much mercury in the environment we can eat fish. We have smog and global warming. What are they doing with nuclear waste that is deadly for thosands of years. Look at all the cost and renewables are very low cost.

It's hard to tell much from the picture. Electric bikes are really cool and efficient along with good for the environment.

I add a grid tied solar system to my home in 2001. I also asked for nte-metering and got it for the whole area in 2004. My power utility pays me some months. Most months I only pay 20-30 bucks and live in the Phoenix AZ area. Solar is my only fuel for Air Cond and Heat.
It green and saves me money. I installed it my self. nice hack of my energy bills

I'd be glad to test these in my EV and report back on the real world performance. %K doesn't seem too high a price.
Fast charging would be a hugh demand on peak power on the grid and transformers. I hope people won't start charging during peak hours !!
