in NashuaTelegraph.com: Web Notes on The Pop DinerI also bet he picks Daisy. After all, whip-smart Jess was too much for him. And seriously, Ambre's one lie might pale in comparison to Daisy's garden of lies by omission, but the man seems to like 'em young. Heather was more age-appropriate for him last season, but he went for Jess instead, and I still think it was partly because she was younger.
I still don't understand why he doesn't just get together with Heather.
Of course, if Bret and Daisy live happily ever after, there is still a chance to capitalize on another spin-off: "Good Luck Chuck."
Hee!

in Seriously, Bret? on The Pop DinerHee. I promise. My tongue is firmly in my cheek on this one. Of course he's never going to grow up. But I am seriously wondering why he doesn't just get together with Heather. I think that right there's a soulmate.

in Kady did on The Pop DinerNo, I know she was bad, but I am hoping her personality will save her because she absolutely CAN sing. I think Carly is the best female, but Marty beat me to her. >Sigh< I always end up picking last or near-last.

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Pop DinerI'd heard it was Springsteen's tune, but I have honestly only ever heard the Manfred Mann one. :) I have no doubt The Boss would sing it more clearly. He's The Boss for a reason, yo!
Teresa, we would make a fun "Singing Bee" team.

in NashuaTelegraph.com: Blogs on The Pop DinerI would totally vote for Tim Gunn for president. And Andre as his running mate.

in NashuaTelegraph.com: Blogs on The Pop DinerOh, I have bad "Macarena" connotations. My downstairs neighbors in PA in 1998 blasted that song over and over and over again. I don't know why. I assumed they were trying to get the dance down pat, but after so many listenings reverberating through my apartment, I just wanted to scream, "Give up! You're never going to get the hang of it!"

in Sing a song of politics on The Pop DinerI may have to turn in my pop-culture card for this admission, but I have only ever seen one episode of Grey's Anatomy. It involved someone exploding at the end. So, the KT Tunstall song is still untainted in my book. What, no suggestions to replace it, Kreblog?

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Pop DinerI watched three episodes of "Stella" in the last two days. At home, though.

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Pop DinerTwo summers ago, when I found myself newly single, mostly furniture-less and in a new apartment in Manchester, I recruited Lifestyles editor Deidre to join me on a trek to the Hartford Ikea. You'd be amazed at how much assemble-yourself furniture I managed to squeeze into the back of my trusty Metro, Bulldog -- two dressers, a nightstand, a "lingerie" chest, a sideboard, numerous hanging organizers and Deidre's purchases - a small table and ice-cube trays. I think they pump some kind of shopaholic drug into the air, maybe hiding it in the cinnamon buns. Sadly, I've never had the meatballs or the buns, but I can vouch for the tastiness of the uber-cheap fro-yo. I am in love with Ikea, but the instructions sometimes leave something to be desired, which is why I find this so funny.

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Pop DinerMy sisters and I were not allowed to watch much TV when we were kids. With a strict quota on our TV-viewing time, Kermit easily tromped all over Will Robinson. Besides, the original series ran from 1965-68, and my parents had not even met then. :) You must have caught the reruns, bub.

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Editor's BlogGiven the business I am in, I'll be the first to admit my world of rainbows, sunshine and unicorns could probably use a bigger dose of cynicism, but thanks, Janice! :)
I will be sure to check out your blog on Sunday.
Lookin' forward to meeting you in October!!

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Editor's BlogVery likely true, Melanator. A whippersnapper probably would have caught it right away. Sad to say, I can be a bit naive and/or trusting at times, whilst other times I giggle over phrases such as "market penetration." I take full responsibility for the miss - especially as a "Simpsons" fan. (Has Bart ever called Moe's with that name? Inquiring minds...) Still, in the interest of transparency, I am glad Nick is talking about it here instead of pretending it didn't happen. If you can't laugh at yourself, well... You're probably missing out on some good chuckles, right? Anyhoo, I now read those captions aloud, so hopefully any other potential Ben Dover or I.P. Freely will be caught BEFORE the page goes to print.
:)
(And in defense of naive editors everywhere, this IS a state who counts among its former legislators Dick Swett and Dudley Dudley, while I hail from PA, where you'll find the town of Intercourse. You just plain never know.)

in Nashua Telegraph Blogs on The Pop DinerAs one of the only Yankees fans in the entire state, I must protest you taking Zim's name in vain. Sure, the old man shouldn't have charged Pedro, but was it really worth it to see him flailing about like an overturned turtle? That's harsh, man.
