The choice is purely personal. If you're a typical "end-user", you do not need to upgrade to Windows7. I've tried Windows7 out for a month or so (maybe, I'll do a post on that soon on my own blog) and it is great ... new features, lots of eyecandy as well. But there's nothing there that you absolutely MUST need under any circumstances. WindowsXP SP3 is fine as it is, and will continue to be the most popular OS out there for a while. Bringing up Linux vs. Windows debate is meaningless, Windows is not worth paying hundreds of dollars unless it comes bundled with your machine to be very honest, and that is how MOST people end up using it. Linux is equally good (or even better), depends on your needs and who you ask.

I thought the third season was OK, and yes I watched one episodes per week (as it was aired) I watch all TV series like that ... I just can't wait around for the DVD to come out.

Anyway, I also thought they prolonged the series by opening up too many new questions ... but it wasn't completely boring either. I am certainly looking forward to the next season (which is the second-last season I believe), Correct?

Simply put, Trek is an excellent movie for all movie-goers that has firmly put the franchise back on the map. I cannot tell you how excited I am about the sequel they're talking about doing. The alternative reality thing has opened up a whole new set of possibilities and with J.J.Abrams at the helm, we're assured of another great flick.

Firefox is 10x a better browser simply because it's more secure, extensible and what not. But yes, it is a memory hog and although I'm a big fan of it even I switch to IE whenever I'm running low on memory.

Best of luck in finding a good place to retire. For some reason, Dubai seemed too posh for me to live tbh. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to a different city n all, it's certainly not bad in any way. I remember places having the strangest names there - for e.g., the Lulu center! LOL!

I know airlines run linux behind their in-flight entertainment systems. Once, on a trip from Karachi to Islamabad, my in-flight entertainment thing crashed and second, on a transatlantic flight, that thing froze (I had to ask the flight-attendants to reset it to get it working again). Of course, the geek in me first tried to figure out a way of doing Ctrl-Alt-Del :P

With the advent of so many "news" channels, this has sadly also given wind to the concept of sensationalism and lack of journalistic responsibility on their part. Express News may be an exception, I don't know, but most channels apparently care more about getting an exclusive on a story or breaking a news before anybody else than the actual content - the human value as per say - speaking about people killed in explosions etc. like they're ordinary numbers or something.

Have you seen there ads that came out with Windows 7 launch? Ridiculous! All they do in their ads is talk about how Win7 is going to fail, will not be secure and blah blah yet they don't know sh*t yet!
