in Picnics on Chris Brogan
I can understand ads for big well-known sites where the ad might actually generate some small amount of revenue, but not for smaller ones. Ads are like pop-ups; they're annoying. As a small blog myself I would prefer not to annoy my visitors.

in Gay Adoptions on Dad-O-matic
So many talk about gays loving kids just like regular people and I am amazed at the naivety of these statements. The main topic here are the children. A child should have a mother and a father, not two gay people - what kind of influence is that? Children have enough trouble as it is growing up in this world so it is vital that they have good heterosexual parents to help raise them.

This is horrible. Those poor kids. Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute should be ashamed. I hope God does something about this disgusting trend.

in Set Your Blog On Fire on Chris Brogan
Chris, I want to thank you for this article. For me the best tip is the one about the free ebook. I'm going to make up a PDF of the best tutorials from my blog and offer it up there for the visitors.

Thank you.

in OpenID: Benefits and Risks on Techafina
I signed up for OpenID, but then I started encountering trouble on sites that used CommentLuv. It seems that OpenID was interfering with the plug-in and not allowing my blog to be parsed. Once I stopped using OpenID the problem was solved.

in How to Properly Celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day on Techafina
Don't feel odd. Heck, I'm always fixing things in my post after it's published - sometimes I'll think of a better title, delete the whole post, and publish again.

Awesome. Now you need to stick that in your article.

RoseOfTexan Addition made! Thanks Doug. ;) I always feed odd making edits after a post has been published, but it definitely works better if a comment is in the right place in the text :)

in 50 Ways to Take Your Blog to the Next Level on Chris Brogan
You know, I started my blog as a way to introduce people to me and my craft, but since then it has taken on another life. Now I write articles and tutorials encouraging people to tap into their own inner creativity and to learn things on their own. I've had many people tell me about the things in your list, but to tell the truth I've being doing this stuff for most of my life and since I obviously have a knack for it I think it's safe to trust my own gut instincts.

Huh, and to think I've been wasting all this time with site promotion and social networking when all I had to do was act like a complete moron.

in Asking a Woman’s Father For Her Hand In Marriage on Art of Manliness
"...been slowly fading away from Western society is asking a woman’s father for her hand in marriage. Many argue that the whole idea smacks of sexism and chauvinism and harks back to times when women were treated like chattel."

See, this is the problem right here. Nowadays women have gone places they were never intended to go, the family unit has since collapsed, and in turn we have 11 year olds having sex and young girls with six kids to six different guys. The "old days" that they complain about were a far sight better than the way things are today. Society has gone from Leave It To Beaver to Sex and the City.

in Make Your Blog Design Work For You on Chris Brogan
Chris, thanks for the great tips. I just started my own blog last week. I've been learning the code so I can design the layout the way I want. Relevant links and material is important otherwise it's just a mishmash. Still working on the "look and feel" as well as the color scheme.
