I think it is important for Obama supporters to see these kinds of moments. The senator and his wife Michelle are YES people. They don't have time for fear or negativity. Time and again they show us this. Here is an excellent example. I whole-heartedly agree about your definition of patriotism. YES!

I think you could learn a lesson or two from Obama. He doesn't mess with the foolishness of racists or assume that working class people are racist as you do,"The white, working class (read, bigoted)voters". He keeps on working and striving for everyone. C'mon folks get on board!!!

She won't as long as people realize what she is trying to do. C'mon. It is obvious that Senator Obama will be taking the nomination. Why wouldn't campaign supporters want to continue to press forward toward a democratic president? Clinton has done enough damage for heaven's sake. People of reason want what is logically sound and healthy for our country, ie a president of ethical standing.

I just received a Hillary (Democratic)fundraiser in the mail and I was so tempted to use the envelope and write in the voucher slip "Obama All The Way!!! "but I am an adult and don't like to waste money even if it is Hillary's.

I contacted ABC and I do believe they owe their viewers an apology. Enough of the idiocy making! Many people get their info from tv, (foolish tho that may seem).

As one of your most loyal readers (and caucasian to boot) I want to respond to assumptions about knuckle heads that are talking through their "friends". It may have to do with race (or the culture of privilege),but it also has to do with being unaware of oneself and buying into the system without thinking.



Obama wants to wake us up. He isn't offering easy answers because no easy solutions will do to heal the damage that has been done by Washington to our country since corruption became the norm.



Every day that goes by with the media playing up HC and the bs they dish makes me respect Senator Obama more and feel sadness for the people that can't see the game that is being played.



I for one am glad to find so many more people who like John Kerry are ready to move on and get to the issues at hand.

I admit I also fell for the media coverage stating Obama is losing the white "working class" vote. And get pissed off and say stuff to myself about the intelligence of people who believe the AP spin. I will post this on my blog and try harder not to get angry at the lies.

Well. I'm uh... speechless. I can't quite fathom HOW she can say that Barack Obama's entire campaign is based on one speech. Is she daft? Who can call her on this? Ms. Clinton is really pushing it so that many people, (me included) won't vote for her regardless of what happens. And at this point how can she win? By spreading lies? How is she different from McCain? How is she different than the current admin.?
But first things first.

I am also on pins and needles and get anxious when I see Clinton, I just don't trust her or her campaign staff.


But I loved the video! Loved to see you Baratunde! And loved the positivity.

I am holding on to that.

What I noticed was Obama's steadfast reminder to stay on debate instead of giving in to "the silly season". He also didn't lower himself when she did but made a call not to knock each other down but "raise the country up."


Obama doesn't want to waste ANY time on nonsense. He wants to work! Can you believe that?



Even tho' Hillary got all choked up in the end saying how lucky she has been and is- I think Obama showed real strength, maturity, and vision. He seemed to me the clear leader.

The point isn't whether you would be friends with the viewer but that the viewer is entitled to the truth-i.e. reality. O'Reilly is just contributing to the lie. It would be wonderful if we could allow everyone to be engaged in a dialogue, even if they aren't your friends.


Humanity isn't a club, lets be part of the solution.

There is another organization called PACT that helps to offset the cost of adoption for African American Families wishing to adopt an African American child.


Incidently, while PACT states same race adoption is the most beneficial they also educate and support mixed race, and non-African American families who adopt.

What a wonderful example of what is really going on! And what an opportunity! I didn't hear the response to his comments. Did anyone take this fabulous opportunity to "correct" Mr. O'Reilly? Or dialogue with him? You see people, (even Bill O'Reilly), need to be allowed to make big mistakes like this if only to be called on it. Everyone can benefit from the dialogue. It is when we see someone make a horrific error like this and refrain from engaging, that is what is creating problems.
