in Yes It Can on Knuckle Sandwich
Nice post, Scott. I've noticed too, a lot of movement in the direction of transparency with the use of social media tools (upwards of 75,000 views per photo on Obamas Flickr stream!?). Twitter, I noticed was generally ahead of CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, FOX in reporting the news of the past week, including the minute-by-minute play from election day.

How will our new President-Elect choose to use social media in the next four years is something I'm looking forward to watching unfold. (Ah, and who is behind managing the strategy).

Scott Schnaars Fascinating, though dated, story on Chris Hughes: Facebook co-founder and
head of the Obama social media strategy.

How cool is this? Thanks for the tip. It's like Etsy meets Zazzle meets Pleg. So awesome. I'll finally have a place to make a demo of my secret stealthy idea that'll save me from my lowly middle class life. :)

I took this photo myself the other day at the flea market -- wondering what are we supposed to wear to decorate our bums with this fall. :)

in Essential Skills of a Community Manager on Chris Brogan
Jesse, Pamela -- I'd add my $.02 here onto your thoughtful posts, that is the Community Mangers need to have a very clear vision and logistical understanding of what the company's legal structures involve. What does the Privacy Policy say? What's the TOS like?

Secondly, I'd add that a true community manager can lead users to content and services that they want them to follow without being a poser.

in A Day Without Twitter on Chris Brogan
One day a few years ago, I drove out of work and threw my two-way pager, my Palm Pilot, my cell phone, my *actual* Rolodex out the top of my convertible.

I went one year without any of them.

Today, we have a rule: no electronic devices between 6-8 p.m. in our house. That helps. :)
