in Shep Opines on Joe the Plumber’s Upcoming PJTV Stint in Israel (VIDEO) on MsUnderestimated
For whatever it's worth, when all the media in the world was here in Tallahassee after the 2000 Presidential election (remember that one...the election the liberals claim conservatives stole?) Shep Smith was arrested for aggravated battery with a motor vehicle on a female reporter when she dared to have stood where he was earlier. According to TPD the female reporter was standing on Monroe Street across from the Capitol, in a rare empty space in a parking lot crowded with television satellite trucks. She told police she was saving the space for co-workers. Smith drove up in a white Mazda Millenia and yelled at her to move. Smith shouted profanities at her and basically hit her with his car but fortunately didn't cause serious injuries other than bruises and scrapes. Did Smith help her after knocking her onto the hood of his car? Nope. He got out of his car, shut & locked the door and walked right past her. Really nice, guy right? He was arrested shortly afterward and was taken to the city jail and book on battery with a motor vehicle. The charges were lowered several months later to simple battery and eventually dropped after both parties agreed to a confidential monetary settlement (translation: Fox bought the reporter off). Apparently Smith felt he was priviledged and everyone should give him what he wants when he wants it. He's been a prima donna for a long, long time and remains so. Of course, whaddya expect from an Oxford Junior College...er, sorry...Ole Miss grad (this is coming from an MSU alum BTW). I've worked in the television industry here in Tallahassee for ten years and have met many people who either worked directly with Smith or with those who have and apparently Smith is a royal pain in the patoot to work with.

Is there a civilian medal the USMC bestows upon people like Officer Porcello? If so, someone needs to get with USMC officers to get that done. Officer Porcello needs to be recognized and honored as well. If there are followup stories on Officer Porcello, would you post them?

MsUnderestimated I will set a Google alert for her name, but there is another high-profile executive by the same name, so I'll see what I get. I agree with you - a civilian medal is needed.

in The Silly Season Keeps Congress In Session on Captain's Quarters Comments
I'm normally not a violent person and have a pleasant disposition, but in regards to Congressional matters (Democrats, Republicans and all other parties & independents) their behavior and lack of effective leadership and their gross inefficiency of getting anything constructive done is so frustrating that if presented the opportunity, I personally wouldn't mind kicking some Congressional ass to get them moving in the right direction (pun intended).

in Unfortunately, This Qualifies As A Minor Democratic Scandal on Captain's Quarters Comments
In a normal, rational world, such scandals would spell major problems for any political candidate but for some reason such scandals quickly disappear when the name associated with it is Clinton. The mainstream corporate media has a lot to do with it by downplaying such scandals, especially the Clinton connections, but the short-term memory loss exhibited by voters, especially the "we'll-vote-for-Clinton-no-matter-what" apologists, is exploited by the Clintonistas and Clinton, Inc. to a high extent. So I predict and even expect that no matter what occurs between now and the Democratic Primary, Clinton will become the Democrat's Presidential candidate and all the scandals will be swept under the rug by the uber-liberal MSM and the well-organized and overly aggressive Clinton war machine.

And frankly, unless the Republicans somehow unite, toughen up and get better & effective at addressing the issues that matter to Americans (unlike the wishy-washy stuff currently exhibited), Hillary Clinton will become the next President of the United States, a situation that frightens me and IMHO spells major trouble for the country.

Originally I was going to recommend the lady taking gun training classes like offered here in Florida but with three kids 10 and under, one would really need to keep any guns under lock and key and in such a high stress situation, it would be quite difficult, if not impossible, to unlock a gun from a safe, drawer or even a trigger-lock effectively and in a timely manner. So with that in mind, I suggest the following: increased security measures first and foremost. More secure windows - ones harder to jimmy open with break-resistant glass. Secondly, keep non-lethal weaponry in strategic places. Pepper spray, baseball bat (aluminum or composite as opposed to wood - lighter, stronger and less breakage), spring-loaded whip-stick (if legal to own in your area - in some places it is illegal to own one) and possibly some sort of stungun (although if your allowed to own one it may not be wise with kids in the home).
Since this has been ongoing, I strongly suggest starting a neighborhood watch program in conjunction with the police department. I would assume they have some sort of program available.
My prayers and throughts are with that family. I am in a unique position having family and friends in various levels of law enforcement. In fact, I'm the only one in my immediate general family of one brother and one 1st cousin that ISN'T a sworn law enforcement officer. But ironically I just got a job working for a law enforcement agency in a non-sworn position.

How can one tell when Maxine Waters is lying? Whenever she speaks.

So far not one cut-and-run Democrat has been willing and able to explain why they want to pull all the troops from Iraq before the job is done but have no problems with troops remaining in Germany (post WWII -- over 60 years since the beginning of WWII) and Korea (post Korean War -- over 50 years since the beginning). And just how long did U.S. and allied troops remain in Japan after the Japanese government officially surrendered?

Someone needs to force their hand on this.

I saw that segment and frankly I'm rooting for the little person who can do some cool gymnastics. What the law enforcement officers did isn't uncommon, but doesn't get as much exposure as the high-speed chases, drug busts, etc. I have several relatives and friends in law enforcement and I support law enforcement officers strongly.

Abdul Alim Musa is evil, simply evil. There is no two ways about it. If the liberal Democrats succeed in their cut-and-run tactics and terrorist begin attacks on American soil, I bet Abdul Alim Musa will disappear (e.g. - go underground). in MsUnderestimated » Blog Archive » WWE Goes to Iraq - Again (VIDEO) on MsUnderestimated
I've been a fan of professional wrestling since I was but a wee lad in the late 1960's. My Grandaddy took me to the televised matches at WMC in Memphis, TN where I first met Jerry Lawler. I'm familiar somewhat with the behind-the-scenes nature of the business starting back during the kayfabe days all the way to today. My admiration for the dedication it takes to be sucessful in professional wrestling has always been high. Plus for every major superstar in the business, there are hundreds and hundreds of people busting their butts to put on shows for people at small venues all across the country.

Anyway, a couple points of interest concerning the WWE's annual trips to Iraq to entertain the troops. First, no wrestler is mandated by the company to go. It's strictly voluntary. Secondly, every year since the beginning, the list of volunteers has always exceeded the number of slots available making it quite difficult for WWE officials to say "no." Personally speaking, it seems each and every WWE wrestler who does go seems to push themselves to put on a "better than best" performance for the troops present.

Hillary Clinton described as "cold, calculating and self-serving"...

Damn! That's the most accurate description of the woman I have ever read. Hillary would sacrifice her own daughter if it would garner her power. Clinton wants this country to be socialist with her in absolute control. That is her fondest wish.

I watched a portion of it on O'Reilly's program the other night. Even though O'Reilly attempted to be diplomatic about his thoughts concerning Rosie, she came off to me as the shrill harpie and anti-Americanist that she is. He refusal to answer Bill's direct question as to whether she wants the U.S. to win is quite telling. Instead she, as was Walters, tried to play semantics games. It reminded me of Clinton's infamous "the meaning of is" rubbish. Even though "The View" may be popular with daytime female audiences, I have no respect for the show nor do I ever watch it when it airs.

Montel Williams is simply a mental midget who couldn't effectively debate his view if his life depended upon it. Remember this is the same maroon who regularly has fake psychic Sylvia Browne on as a guest passing her off as the "real deal" although she's just doing a pretty piss-poor job of cold readings. Check out James Randi's website (http://www.randi.org/) for information about Sylvia Browne and her fraud. From Mr. Randi's site:

"On September 3, 2001, Sylvia Browne accepted the specific protocol for a definitive test for the JREF million-dollar challenge, on Larry King Live. The box shows the number of weeks since that date. And, it has been more than 288 weeks since she first agreed to be tested on March 6, 2001!"

in MsUnderestimated » Blog Archive » NYT’s Frank Rich Slams Bush Admin on Oprah - Part Deux (VIDEO) on MsUnderestimated
Oprah Winfrey learned long ago how to manipulate the public, her viewers and people in general. Her sincerity is usually faked to promote herself and her causes. Her tactics are of the typical liberal: state your opinion as fact and shut up any and all opposing viewpoints by any means necessary. She has a long history of doing so. Truth means nothing to her if it opposes her personal beliefs. Her allowing Frank Rich on her show is just the latest example. Sometimes she does get called on the carpet on her outrageous statements (anyone remember her over-the-top accusations against the beef industry resulting in lawsuits? Or the erroneous information she claimed was factual after Hurricane Katrina even though they had already been proven to be false - she never corrected herself nor admitted making any error - in fact she re-ran the same post-Katrina episodes with the false information later on) however being the master manipulator that she is, she turned it into an event to promote herself and made herself appear to be the victim to her loyal flock although she was the instigator of the whole sordid affair. She is a major megalomaniac who has to be the center of attention no matter what. It's sad that there are thousands, if not millions, of people in this country so blinded by celebrity that they accept whatever their celebrity gods and goddesses espouse without question and without research to see if it is true or not.
