Congratulations on your record uniques. It's great if so many people have seen your content. If you don't mind I'd like to share my thoughts on the number of uniques to a website or blog.

You can reach such numbers (and much higher) with other means than being mentioned by an Internet celebrity (e.g. a service like AlphaInventions, which I specifically requested to be blocked by, as I explain below).

I don’t mind a referral, but I know from experience that of those people only a few come back the next day. There is nothing more depressing than having 100+ visitors one day, and 20 visitors per day the rest of the month (of which 5 or 6 you know are bots crawling the Net).

I want to know how to grow my audience from 20 to 100 (or more) per day consistently. Every communication guru tells me that the way to do this is by creating content that goes beyond the personal, beyond what’s important to only you. You have to become a communicator, someone who channels feelings, thoughts and ideas many of us have, and a storyteller, who gives a personal touch to a publication, people can identify with.

In short, people want someone explaining new and exciting things. People have been wanting that since the dawn of publishing.

That is why I prefer not to have people who go to my blog primarily because they are told to by someone or some service. It think this can only be done by offering original and unique content each and every day. This both gives me the reason to get better at what I do, as the pressure to try to do the best I can at this moment (because everyone can see what I do).

Good luck at reaching a consistent 100+ unique visitors per day!

@Gazmaz: For recording while running, I use an iRiver IFP-790 with a compatible Giant Squid Audio Lab omnidirectional mono lapel mic and Creative EP-630 noise canceling earbuds for monitoring the sound. I put the iRiver on a waist belt, and guide the wires under my running shirt. I've recording two (Dutch language) podcast episodes with this.

You probably will have to filter out the wind noise with a high-pass filter at 80 Hz in your audio editor afterwards, or use a mic that has a built-in rumble-canceling filter (cuts everything below 80 Hz).

I would consider using protected disk images to store your secret data, and possibly TrueCrypt for Mac OS X to hide that disk image, so even if someone is looking for it, he will only find random data (unless he knows your password). You could even put harmless data in a TrueCrypt volume, and create a hidden volume inside the TrueCrypt volume, to have something what is called "plausible deniability" (look it up in Wikipedia). I wouldn't trust anything but open source software (not even Apple) to protect me from prying eyes.

You still need to shut down your Mac for safety, of course, if you leave your Mac unattended.

It would take approximately a month to see the final results (especially those from outside the US). Black Lab should have all the numbers from the March 22 sales by now. Can you post something about those final results, please? How many copies of "Mine Again" were sold, specified per country?
