I don't know what good it would do, except for entertaining crowds and participants. It seems that there have always been individuals and entire cultures that derived pleasure from sports and games that involved harming non-human animals and humans. This falls into the "banality of evil" category - the way you can become so accustomed to a heinous act that it no longer bothers you and even amuses you.
