in 2007/12/13/google-answers-to-bring-back-human-powered-search/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
With AOL acquiring Yedda, Askville stil in Beta, and Google Answers stirring in its sleep, it seems the big players are here to give Yahoo Answers a run for its money.
I personally think that there should be some consolidation in this area. There are a ton of small players, and the big companies haven't really gained traction, except Yahoo.
Anyone think that acquisitions are coming? Especially from MS?

in Kleiner: Web 2.0 is so over, dude on Mathew's comments
"Web2.0" may be a little dry now, but the Web in general sure isn't. Online advertising is still posting healthy gains, and hypertargeted ads (or 'social ads') in social networks is just going to further drive the growth rate upwards.

in Markus Frind: The Craig Newmark of dating on Mathew's comments
I certainly think Markus Frind deserves more attention. Especially since he is earning so much of his fortune through Adsense. I remember reading an interview with Markus Frind in 2006 touting the idea of using Adsense and YPN as standard components in a business model. There are enough sceptics on this idea, but I think it is quite amazing to see someone get so rich off Adsense alone.
