It does not work unless you have a bank account in the US, so I'm out.

LoneWolf I just did a quick check on the help page for this and it looks like you only need a US account if you want payment by E.F.T. Otherwise, you can opt for a cheque. Note that US publishers that want cheque payments will be dinged $8 but international publishers won't.

in It IS Your Fault on Finance Your Freedom
If somebody had ever told me that I would ever praise a post with strong words, I would have replied yeah and the Soviet Union is going to fall like that.

However, I'd like to say that, when you take risks, you can have the tough side of it. I was a lawyer, maybe young and not that experience, but I had survived the first years. Then I entered a Catholic seminary. Just in case, that means living in a Seminary, spending all my time there, so I had to close my office. Not exactly an easy thing to do.

Some years later I do not even consider myself Catholic anymore.

But... I felt fully alive, I did things I never thought I would be brave enough to do, like spending a summer with street children or, worse, helping in Mass with a cardinal -that makes your legs tremble if you are Catholic-: I learned philosophy, bits of theology, made my faith clear. Now I'm struggling to recover my position, finantially

but... I can say I'm living :)

in Creativity Fear | LifeDev on LifeDev
I raised an elbow when I read about fears. How true. I did not use to worry about things like characters' voice or point of view until I learned the theory of these issues.

When I write in Spanish I never worry about spelling, yet I'm always uneasy when I do the same in English.

I think that you are casting an interesting thought on social networks. Now I don't use facebook much, but I guess we all need some intimate space online as we have off line.

Mine is a fountain pen. Yes I can type, and fairly faster than most people, but still when I want to write fiction, there is nothing to me but the fountain pen and the moleskine.

So I understand you. Any nuts to spare? :)

I agree, but it's not just in art. it's the same in more simple things like running. It looks much worse before you start than when you are actually doing.

I wonder if it's part of human nature, a fear of some sort...
Glen Stansberry That's true too. Perception is also a major part of the fear.
Ruth Very true. I've had a hard time keeping up with my running until recently. *fingers crossed* With running, it's almost harder because, unlike writing, I can't see some long-term progress that I'm working toward. And it doesn't have an end date.

I actually handle my disinclination to run by giving myself permission to stop if I have to. For some reason, it works and I keep going.
