Okay Gary...I'm chas'in you hard now...LOL.

You say ask a question and you'll answer it. My question is how to become a similar persona as to what you've built but in my niche of golf. Golfers are rabid, but unfortunately my specialty is a small niche of golf which is "fitness for better golf". I totally believe in it, as a broken body will NEVER play good golf, and most golfers are broken. The only problem is that fitness is one of the hardest "sells" on the planet. I feel if I can bring my passion and knowledge closer to my market like you've done, it should put me over the edge and closer to my income and success goals.

What is your advice for me? I have the potential to be a "Gary V" in my niche as my personality believe it or not is quite similar to yours.

Todd, I do this all the time with my 12 year old (and even my 9 year old daughter). If they are willing to listen, it's fun. My son wants to be the next Steven Spielberg. He's got more creativity in his thumb than I have combined.

Garry, you bring up a good point! For bloggers is subscribers, for website owner it's list building. On the internet your list is pure gold! It's getting harder and harder to get people to opt in to your list if you're a website owner, and I agree with you that should be the main focus.

Then you can build a relationship with them for future offers. Great post dude! Still hoping to hear back from David ;)

Garry, good reminders. Unfortunately for some of us, our readers aren't so savvy to sign up. My crowd is older golfers and they just don't get it. I've tried to encourage them via emails, but unless there is a SUPER SIMPLE way to show the value of subscribing, markets like mine will be hard to grow :(

Garry, thanks for the brutal (and honest) feedback :) Are you saying have a product demo/marketing video in place of the golf course you circled above? Man...that would make the site butt ugly. I have my PBG.com banner in upper right nav, but obviously visitors are not seeing it or do not know I offer golf fitness products.

Don't like to be doing this analysis in the public, so I think I'll stop there.

Wow...that's telling it like it is :) I love it! And I totally agree! Don't waste any money on the bullshit Internet marketers who will spam you to death. They have a good 'ol boy network of guys laughing at all the money they are getting off the poor suckers who fall for their BS.

Garry said it in a nutshell. Get traffic and CONVERT! That's all there is to making money online. And both are HARD work, that is ongoing. All those Internet marketers showing how much money they make (and you can too - bullshit) is a total crock. Visit blogs like this one and you'll learn a lot.

As you know that is what I've struggled with (and would still like to discuss this with you via phone if possible) since the launch of my blog a couple months ago.

I think depending on your niche, there are definite choices for monetization. Some niched blogs like mine can be real tricky though.

If you've got a 'little bit of time', I'd love to talk with you about this. David has my number ;)

David...good point, but I'm not an adsense fan as they pay out measly. Unless you get a TON of traffic, you'll never make much. I know this as I have 14 top ranked sites with adsense and see it first hand. Now argue that sir :)

I love the chart Gary :) Side by side comparison is awesome for the blogger looking at monetizing their blogs. I have several B blogs and should do more of them, but getting the traffic may be tough initially; although finding long-tail, low competition terms can get you traffic almost immediately even with a new blog.

I understand where you are coming from, but comments from readers don't determine your value with your blog. So many people are too busy to comment, but still read your blog. I have worked somewhat hard on my new blog to see my RSS stay the same or get lower. I don't think my niche (golf) is very savvy to blogging or subscribing to RSS, however I am still posting, even though I have many days with NO comments. I think all of us bloggers who have a clue question if we should continue or not, and we will continue to do that ongoingly. You have very aggressively told people to stay focused and work on what makes them money. Maybe that might be what you need to do ;) I feel ya bro!
