Showing sanctity defeats sanctity. By trying to appease two different principles the Monk actually violated both.

Nick Grimshawe

Re: How to Increase Personal Creativity: Internet Marketers United Group Writing Project

I really enjoyed your article on personal creativity. One of the things I do to stay creative is use a journal. I have note books stashed everywhere, so I can jot things down. I may never uses them, or I might flip back through them six months or a year later and go "Oh what a great idea." I liked how you came up with your subtitles using "Re". It's easy to remember. Lots of good ideas to put to use.

Thanks again.

Nick

Nick Grimshawe's last blog post..Beautiful Summer Morning Inspirational Quote of the Day: Thursday October 18 2007

Re: 2009/02/05/personal-branding-101/

Thanks for the great article. I've learned quite a bit about other things I can do to improve my branding. I am in the process of reading everyone's post. What I liked about your post is the simple way you laid out the info. I am going to follow you directions and get going on this as RSS is something I haven't done alot with RSS. Seems like a simple next step.

Thank You

Re: Answer me this…

Oh so that's the tail of the dragon!

Nick

Nick Grimshawe´s last blog post..Ten Quotes about the Journey

Re: Anxiety, Affirmations & Yaro

Hi David,

What an excellent post. I have never thought of negative thoughts as negative affirmations but you are right. When you think of them that way it just gives you another handle to wrestle them with.

Listening to your internal dialoque is so important in changing your thought patterns. I've found over time, the more I practice, the better I become, at spotting negative affirmations. As you progress you begin to find the really deep seated ones. I am always amazed by this.

I use to have trouble with negative dreams. Then one day when I woke from a particularly bad one, I stopped and tried to figure out how I could restate it in a positive light. The moment I started doing that the number of negative dreams I had started to drop off rapidly. Now I almost look forward to one because of what I learn from putting a positive spin on it.

Anyway, enough of all of that.

Just a great article, and the links too. I will be following up on those.

Nick

Nick Grimshawe's last blog post..Quote by James Allen about Vision

Re: Achieving goals with support

Great post about goals. I do set them and try to make them as clear as possible but getting a coach could really help. I know even a coach for a course I took really helped clarify my goals. Also reading as much as you can on goals and goal setting works well too: such as reading this article.

Thanks.

Nick

Nick Grimshawe's last blog post..RECOLLECTIONS … OF MY MOTHER, OF HER FLORAL SKIRT: By Noy

Re: Dealing with Perfectionism

Perfectionism can cause procrastination when you are so focused on perfect you never complete the cycle. My experience with aspiring writers just confirms this. I won't publish till I'm perfect, which then, unfortunately, results in the author never submitting his or her work.

I like the idea of affirmations allowing for mistakes. We stumble and fall to succeed.

Great article as usual.

Nick

Nick Grimshawe's last blog post..Bruce Lee Quote: Meaning of Defeat

Re: Stop Seeking the Approval of Others

Hi David,

Another interesting article. I like the idea of the Portfolio where you put your accomplishments and things your feel you did a good job on.

As some one who had problems with self esteem, approval seeking is one of the hardest things to overcome and to understand.

I got there with my journal, and a lot of reading: articles like this, books, and one very good coaching program.

You do an awesome job, keep up the good work.

Walk in quiet places.

Nick

Nick Grimshawe's last blog post..There is a Door Inside of Me

Re: Does taking risks build confidence?

Self confidence is a strange beast. It's not something that is an across the board thing. You get people who can face the heat of battle yet stand terrified before an audience of friendly faces.

You can do some general things to gain self confidence especially in areas you feel the lack of.

I guess over all you could put the task down to a willingness to push your own limits until you feel you may not have total self confidence but you have the fortitude to tackle anything. I suppose when you get to that point you could say you have total self confidence: one of those two sides of the same coin situations.

Nick

Re: How to Say No

Hi David,

This is a very helpful article for everyone who tends to say yes to avoid conflict. I think it is important to bend, but only on your terms. Don't lie, is so important. too many people get caught out on this one which only brings embarrassment and guilt later.

Be upfront with the "NO". Don't be defensive and don't feel you need to give more of an explanation than you feel comfortable with.

Great advice.

Thanks for the reminders.

Nick
