Sorry, I meant “of recognising”, not “to recognising”

@meh: that is really quite stupid. To assert that someone who has an opinion strongly is somehow incapable to recognising logic and proof is absurd.
The only time when an opinion (such as, “Microsoft rules! Apple Sucks!”) cannot be changed is when the persuasive information given is not based on fact. Opinions cannot alter other opinions, but facts _can_ alter opinions.

Hum. I run Quicktime all the time, yet it never shows up in my tray. It is possible that it is just some stupid mess-up that Windows is making. I have never known the operating system to be very consistent in its behaviour, computer to computer (unfortunately, I am unable to afford anything better).

In regard to your frustration with the Quicktime system tray icon and its “stickiness”, I would like to respectfully ask you to give me a bloody break. Now, I understand that it is annoying, and that there is no reason whatsoever wherefore it should be placed in startup. However, it is really quite easy to go into “msconfig” (just go to Start >> Run, and then type in “msconfig” sans quotation marks); from there, all you have to do is hit the “Startup” tab, and then deselect Quicktime. It shouldn’t give you any more trouble.
Cheers,

It has got to be pretty cool, though, to have companies just sending you free stuff to play with...

I mostly agree with anon's comment, but if one is looking for an online word processor that clones traditional, stable formatting features and page layout of desktop apps, look no further than Adobe's Buzzword (www.buzzword.com). It looks, feels and acts just like a desktop app, but is simpler and is online. It features excellent page layout (with real pagination), formatting that is _not_ fickle like that of ajax applications, and is free to use. It is really easy to collaborate to. The only downside is that you can't collaborate simultaneously, but that is probably coming.

And yes, LaTeX support in any of these online apps would be really suite... I'll bet Zoho gets it first.

OK, here is the URL for the screenshot at Google System. The colour scheme is a little different, but still not the same as what regular users get:

Hmmm. The picture is not of the version of Gmail that I have. The blue is lighter, and there is only one shade, whereas in mine, there are two shades of blue. This reminds me of the leaked screenshot that GOS posted of the Gmail version that supports AIM, with the new colour-scheme. Looks like they are using it in-house!

Hmmm. That's funny; it isn't tomorrow yet, and I have had Internet TV on Media Center in Home Premium since about 3:30 (at least, that is when I checked, could have been earlier) this afternoon....

I tested an iPhone last week and tried to use iZoho, but it wouldn't trigger the keyboard so I couldn't type.

Hi, everyone.
Does anyone have an invite to Sliderocket? I would love to try it out. Also, when I get an invite to a really awesome app, I try to send invites to lots of other people too, kind of spreading the love.
Thanks!

Here are a few insults, Scoble (don't take them personally :) ). Please note that I composed these at exactly 12:07pm, so they may not make any sense at all in the morning...
1. If a bird tweeted as much as Scoble, it would have a seizure.
2. Rumour has it that Robert Scoble's life and identity on earth will in a small matter of time cease to exist, and will only be visible via lifestreams on the internets.
3. If the narcissystem were a UPS package, Scoble would be half-way to New York by now.
4. Number of internet friends Scoble has: 67 jillion; number of friends he actually knows: 7.
5. If Scoble were a web browser, he'd be NCSA Mosaic: old, slow, and without style[s].
6. If Scoble were an operating system, he'd be

I was thinking that the new layout had a lot of potential in a future Gmail release, so I made a mockup of what it could look like, here: http://blog.verani.net/2007/06/new-google-docs-...

Wow. Watched the really long video, but it was worth it. Doesn't really look like a product that an individual user would use, but for big companies and stuff, looks awesome. I love the area where you can just gather media and info, and then drag it from there into the presentation. Really cool.
