I honestly dated someone in the office who wasn't a Manwhore and it is something I would not care to get into again. It is hard to see and work with that person on a daily basis, without wanting to drive that said 3 inch heel (pen, pencil, paperclips made into a dart), into the middle of their eyes, if they ended up becoming a tool after the whole ordeal. Not an easy situation at all - so I obviously say NAY.

I read this entry today, when I really did need to read it yesterday. However, there is no time like the present. I have been down myself for the past couple of days, trying to get through a memory or two. Thank you for that post. I have to constantly remind myself what my parents used to say is the truth - He only gives us what he knows we can handle, even though it doesn't feel that way at the time.

I went to see Prince two years ago and boy, that was an experience. There is NOTHING like the royal purple one. Nothing compares. As for Adore, definitely one of my favorites, next to Insatiable, Seven and Raspberry Beret. And I am sure I can go on and on...lol

Jazzy Sully is serious, no doubt. I heart that album a lot. My fav on the album is "Live A Lie" even though I find it hard to choose one, I will go with that one. But I was very disappointed with her performance at the Maxwell show. She was very boring and that is not what I was expecting from someone so passionate.

As for John, yes yes - I finally took a listen and I like, I like! :) Really feeling "It's Over" with Kanye and "Can't Be My Lover" with Buju. WICKED!

I have a love hate relationship with Ye. I think the man is way beyond anything hip hop has to offer right now. Yet on the other hand, I am not too sure about the whole vocoder thing. T-Pain done already bastardized the damn contraption, why try and take it upon yourself to further decimate it's existence? I don't know girl. And I love "Love Lockdown" because it has a banging tribal house beat. But not sure if I will be giving the rest of the album a listen. Especially after I head his second track...NOT feeling it. I dunno girl, I dunno know!

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the role model position that Michelle and Barack are being set into. I love their relationship and I have been singing it from the mountain tops. It is so precious and defining, that it has moved me to tears. However, I refuse to let society pigeon hole their love. We all know what happens once we place someone on a pedestal. One wrong move and we are not too forgiving about the fact that we are human and make mistakes. Relationships are about learning from our mistakes and making the love stronger. Be it a friendship, courtship or whatever it may be. Anyway enough preaching, I could go on and on...lol My point is - I concur. :)

I am so very happy that you mentioned the fact that a black president has been elected, does not eradicate the disease. GUUUUURL, when I pressed play on the first track, I broke out in a cold sweat. That is my favorite track on this album.

At first, I let the track "Radio" be my guide and totally rebuked even listening to the album because of my frustration. Then the preview copy was sent to me and I took a listen - can we say speechless? It has been on heavy rotation since I have pressed play. It is most definitely one of the gems from 2008 that everyone needs to pay attention to, if they haven't already. Great write up!
