Everything was made to sound foolishly ominous... *Killer* hotdogs... Planet *destroying* A/C... etc. And I totally agree with your point - it isn't that we SHOULDN'T worry about these things, it's that perhaps we worry too much about them.

Re: Seeing the Forest for the Trees

I just came across your blog (found you on Technorati) and really enjoyed this post. I'll certainly be returning to read more!

Re: Gas Prices Love and Hate them - 10 Reasons to Love them, and 9 Ways to Save on Gas.

I like thinking of high gas prices as a catalyst for change. It's a forcing mechanism, really. Sad as it is, we probably wouldn't have changed our lifestyle if it didn't come down to pure economics.

Re: Personal Financial Management Options

Oh, this is GREAT. I just wrote a post on my blog about Mint and my love-hate relationship with it. I'm interested in other products and your review of alternatives is super helpful. Thanks!

Re: Life in the Clouds

These are really good tips - the more you can do via a browser, the better. With really important documents, I usually email them to myself via gmail just in case something happens.

P.S. I'm impressed that you received your new laptop by 3 pm. Your company is efficient!

Re: British Government To Begin Crackdown On Food Waste

Well, we are facing a global food crisis in the midst of an exploding population. Food waste is not only bad for the individual who throws it away, but it's truly bad for us all on a macro scale.

That said, I'm not sure how this will be implemented or really, how it *could* be implemented in a way that would work.

At the UK considers their impact on the world. Here in the US, we've got a bumbling idiot for a leader who still prescribes to the bigger is better mentality.
