I'm glad you share the name of a canoe trip leader I had in summer 2007. Both of you are awesome people. I am, of course, taking Justin's description of you, but there's no way you could not fit what he says. :)

I just figured out I had access to Zoho Mail a few weeks ago, and I've configured it to auto-forward to my Gmail account. As you say, there aren't enough features in it to make me switch from Gmail.

It would be so funny if it turned out that the computer that failed was indeed running Vista... :D

I don't remember exactly, but I don't think so. Now I see an Under Construction page on theultimatebug.com and an end-of-life page on theultimatesteal.com

The version of theultimatebug.com that I see doesn't mention that the promotion is over, or that it has an ending date.

The Microsoft website also still has the promotion. Definitely MicroFAIL.

So if the promotion is over, why does the site now show a $60 promotion for Office Ultimate 2007? With no end date in sight? MicroFAIL?

They showed up while the page was loading, but disappeared once it had finished. Weird!

I believe I have had personal experience with a host that surgically removed my content. ThePlanet.com, it was. My stolen content was stored in a WordPress database, and from all appearances they just deleted the matching records from the database.

While I thankfully haven't found any more huge infringers since then, I think I just might bookmark this page for future reference. (I'm probably missing several plagiarists, though; for each one you find, there are five hiding in the baseboard, right? Like mice?)

You didn't mention twhirl, a Twitter client that also supports FriendFeed (like Alert Thingy is a FriendFeed client that supports Twitter).

In all honesty, I don't do it more than once every week or two. Probably less in the future, as my posting frequency declines to make room for other (real-life) stuff. I hear you on the IE6 thing.

On a positive note, my mom now uses Firefox 2 and says, "I like Firefox now." Warms my heart. :D

Been through this. I'll be talking about something and I'll think (sometimes even say), "Just go read my blog post about it!" Bugs the heck out of me, because I hate repeating myself.

I think Alert Thingy is taking cues from the FriendFeed website. On FriendFeed.com, comments are expanded once they're expanded, and there's no going back without reloading the page.

As they say, "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, however..." (Or whatever the words are.) Joan makes a good point. I too think this would be a good idea, kind of like the spam domain lists we have now for email. User participation might be harder to get, though.

@Computer Support: Did you read the post, or just skim it and read the title? Zoli did uninstall the Service Pack, unwillingly. It failed to install.

Meh, I already saw it in IE, and I don't plan to use the service either. If it doesn't work, other people will not use it, and they'll have to either fix the problem or fail as a business. Fine by me.

I'm here on the site, with ABP disabled. I see an ad at the bottom of the embed, but no image has shown up after a minute and a half. Firefox says it is "Transferring data from ad.doubleclick.net..." but there's no network activity. Hold on, let me try it in Internet Explorer...

It shows up in IE6. The only things I can think of that would make that happen are JavaScript inconsistencies and referrer differences. Or it could be an extension I have, messing with the way the page is loaded.

The embed appears to be already broken. The image never loads. I am definitely staying away from GumGum if this is indicative of its performance.

@possible248: It does, but the last line of text (and the bottom end of the scrollbar with the down arrow button) is cut off anyway.

I'm still getting mailings that have everyone listed in the TO line. Honestly, some people have no idea that either of the other two fields even exist.

Netiquette seems to be a lost art; what happened to using BCC for lists?

Third example has text cut off at the bottom. FF 2.0.0.12, WinXP, 1024x768. :D
