That is a great pity. I have been thinking of going to Cork (not very far from Dublin where I am), and was looking forward to your presentation. Multilingual blogging is a very interesting subject, and like your other commenters, I feel that the second reviewer didn't quite get it.

It sounds very interesting, and I think very useful. My one comment - and this is nitpicking! is that your first question is about danger. I know that this is what parents think about first when they think about their kids' internet usage, but this first place gives it once again a prominence it might not merit - and could indicate that the book will be dealing with online predators and how to avoid them. Then again, it is nitpicking and I am a little bit oversensitive on the issue - as are I think a lot of people who study and research young people's internet lives. People's reactions are nearly always either dismissive or fearful, so I can only applaud a book that will try and change this! May you reach many many parents :)

Just remembered though, one book in French on young people and digital culture: Le pouce et la souris, Pascal Lardellier, 2006, Fayard.

I will be very interested in reading your book. Indeed danah boyd is one of the main researchers in the field of adolescence and internet, and her blog is one of my favourite reads and inspiration. I am in Ireland, researching for a PhD on Irish adolescents and their blogs; originally was going to look at French and Irish blogs, but it became too difficult to manage within the scope of a PhD; I had done a good bit of research though, and certainly did not find very much already written.
