There are a couple of things I had to say/ask --
* Who is EH???
* What's with this strike-out thing? Do they reflect the corrections made to the initial post? Found it nice.
* Coming to the post, I cannot agree more when EH says - "Man created God". It makes perfect sense to me.
* Visited your blog after a long time (thanks to the E398 firmware upgrade mail :-)). Nice to see you updating it regularly. :-)

Wow, nice account of the incident. The dramatic touch with an element of suspense was really nice.

Why do Muslim women have to wear the burkha? Why do the sikhs have to wear the turban? Does it make any sense in the modern civilized world apart from the religious compliance. Isn't it time we looked seriously into our ancient pratices and customs and got rid of the obsolete ones whose very purpose has lost relevance today?

On a lighter vein, why are burkhas always the same sober black? Not a good colour for a sunscreen, you see. The burkhas could be more fashionable and yet serve the "purpose". : )

Why don't you add your ideas to the Ideaxtŕeam wiki?

I think the wear and tear of sensors shouldn't be much of a problem. Such sensors are commonly used for those sliding doors in the malls. The same could work with the escalators.

I'm just wondering if starting and stopping the heavy duty motor of the escalator frequently has any disadvantage.
