in Digital Nomads keep Dell Weird on The Web Pitch
I go sans on the badge and wallpaper. That is perhaps a bit much. Most nomads are not much for joining things, or being organized as a group. That's just part of the nomad mindset. Dell is a great company though, and I now am coveting the Inspiron Mini 9 as a backup machine.

Digital nomads are weird, but they also are not wired.

They make it look easy. With a tough global economy, it makes you wonder how accessible this lifestyle is the average single person, let alone a family. Now I have to go over and give'em a Twitter.

in How To Work While Traveling Like A Business Nomad - The Kareem Mayan Interview on Mixergy, Startup School
Make that "netbook" as a back up. Netbooks are coming on strong, and in many ways maybe all you need, if you have the write setup.

in How To Work While Traveling Like A Business Nomad - The Kareem Mayan Interview on Mixergy, Startup School
Great interview Andrew. I just left Kareem's website that led me here. I have been writing about being digital for some time. Many of the things here are very true. In particular the list of essentials. I would ad a rugged laptop and a notebook for backup. I like Mozy, but there is also NomaDesk.

My gig is more about telecommuting, with a go of being totally mobile with online businesses. It is possible, but lofty. At any rate, cloud computing and SaaS is definitely shaping up.

in HOW TO GUIDE: 60+ Great How To Sites and Resources on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Huge list indeed, but ultimately will not be of much use for those that are new tt
to the concept of working online and with technology to build a real business.

You have to to do way more than build websites or mashups to make a buck
online. Many people will be disappointed wondering around from these links.

in Becoming a Digital Nomad: Options for Working Remotely from Anywhere on Almost Fearless
It's not that easy, but it's also not that hard. You do have to be tech savvy. Your photos make it an attractive proposition.

I think you have it right mid article...the key is multiple websites. Of course you can slug it out with everyone else, but developing very tight niches is best. It take more time, but the rewards are there over time.

This is why so many people give up. It's lots of training and lots of work.

in Are You a Digital Nomad? on Duct Tape Marketing
Smart packaging, but in reality nothing really new. The space has been well covered, but has been mostly a small niche. I think social and economic shifts are shedding light on the subject.

I don't believe I would want to promote the ped-logo, but will probably be a frequent visitor to read and comment.

Unfortunately, the fact that Dell launched the site should not make it news.

in Dell Launches Digital Nomads on Chris Brogan
Maybe they got it from Digital-nomads blogspot blog, Ha.
I wish I had such resources. I am always ahead of the curve, and uncannily it is always about an 18 month curve.

At any rate, the important thing is that the "nomad" niche is finally being acknowledged. Forgive me for noticing, but Dell is way new to the rugged portable computing space. At the same time, they are also welcome.

in Part II - Tips To Promoting Your Videos on Jim Kukral
That all sounds logical. How do you make money with videos, or a vlog?

Is there a workable theory, or way to monetize...other than PPP, PPC, PPA, and running adsense, or selling ads, or promoting ebooks and secret (but not really) online marketing techniques? Ooops, forgot affiliates programs...

OK Bother...don't keep it a secret. I joined your feed, so point me in the right direction. I don't want to have to read all your archives from 2001.

I need to go viral...

Are you still liking your Flip? BTW, what is the point of pushing the video stuff if there is no money in it?

I had similar problems at first...and then it starts to work, as if by "magic".

Well...I had to fuss with it a bit.

in Is Web 2.0 For Business Dead? on Instigator Blog
My take is nobody has honestly figured it out. I have been following this all year.

Half of all businesses are supposedly attempting to use Web 2.0 in 2008. If someone does come up with some B2B models they will make a pile of money.

Well, good luck to Wendy. I am not much in touch with the mommy blog crowd, and don't see how they do it.

In some ways it must be a bit like trying to sell Amway or Avon. How many friends and family can sell each other the same stuff or ideas.

A mystery to me. This is not meant to be a critique, just an observation. We all are watching though.

Good point. Some people will even suggest that a blog without comments is not really a blog.

Very odd.

How stupid is that. People need to lighten up. Tell them to light some candles for you.
