I would say that CAB's responsibility should be to provide good entertainment for its students over free entertainment...at least for one weekend. Also, the fact of the matter is that a large majority of students and alums look forward to tailgating at homecoming. I see where CAB is coming from in trying to get away from drinking in order to have a good time, but the fact of the matter is that things such as gutter ice cream sundaes, pool movies, and the same family friendly acts year after year is not going to do the job...especially being that this is a COLLEGE located in DUBUQUE. $18,000 is a huge amount of money, and I don't see it being effectively used during homecoming. This is especially critical since Loras lost endowment in the last year, financial aid is going down, and the money is being spent on stupid activities that less than 5% of students go to. As for the survey that everyone keeps bringing up that argues, "this is what the students wanted" I read in the minutes of the student senate meeting that around 100 people responded. First, I don't remember getting a survey about this. It could have been my bad on not reading an email or not reading the portal or whatever, but what makes me mad is that 100 or so people only represents around 5-6% of the entire student population. Last and final note: don't hate on likethewhiskey because of the reasons you state. I pay very substantial amounts of money to go here for a good education, yet enjoy a few drinks on the weekends every now and again. Its the weekend. He shouldn't be locked up studying and isolated in his bedroom. Wait, thats what CAB events are for-he doesn't need to drink. He can go to un-funny comedians,no name bands with 10 other people to dance and sing with, and shopping cart bingo. Ooo Yeah!

Start criticizing me by stating, "Well do something about it then." I will not do something about the stupid events that CAB puts on, because frankly, I, like many others, don't care about them. (which should be a big enough sign to CAB that things need to change)I am loving my Loras experience doing what I am doing. I am just stating that $18,000 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on Homecoming.

Re: Irrational atheists

Only one of the scenarios yields going to heaven.

Re: Pictur Story 5, The Sisters's Olga and Kayla, by Yannick Talla

what?????
hey, i thought of a few things to worry about: the bottom of your coffee cup could unexpectedly drop out one day, or you could jump off the diving board onto an ice rink. you never know.

Re: Video: When will they learn?

So, basically, you want a game of football where no-one hits anyone? I blink my eyes and look around the picture when I look at these things. I've been able to do them since I was young but that doesn't make a difference.

Really, you want to feel like you're eyes are relaxing. Once you see an edge, start tracing it with your eyes and it becomes more defined.

After a while hopefully, u'll be able to just do the technique of a quick sub cross of the eyes and be able to see them while flipping through a book. That's what I do atleast.

There's a science behind the reasoning. Here's a technique tip.

O O

Stare into the middle of those two dots and slowly cross your eyes, WHILE LOOKING IN THE MIDDLE NOT CROSSING TO YOUR NOSE, until you see a third dot in the middle. Keep focusing until it becomes clear. Breathe, relax. Don't strain the eyes or else it doesn't really work as well.

Hope that helps a little.

Re: Watchmen Character Photos - What Do You Think?

ugh ozymandiaz looks way too young and whats with the black costume? rorschach and the comedian look alright though.

Re: 24: The Most Ludicrous 60 Minutes On Television

Hahahaha… I never got around to watching 24, but I did enjoy reading that. Is it the purple that’s the problem? I’m hoping that the Zelda delay is worth it and we’ll get a game with 8 decently-sized dungeons at last… I haven’t played one of those on a non-handheld since OoT.
