마음에 드셨다니 다행입니다. :)

모든 작업이 수작업으로 진행된 제품이다보니 , 간혹가다 열처리나 다른 문제등으로 세탁 후 나염 품질이 떨어지는 경우가 생길수도 있습니다.

그럴때는 가차없이 신고해주세요. :) 바로 다른 새 제품으로 교환해드리겠습니다. 아무쪼록 마음에 드셨다니 저도 정말 기분이 좋네요.

보내주신 차기 디자인에 대한 의견은 적극 수렴해서 버전업할때 반영토록 노력하겠습니다 :)

I have panic attack disorder. And my attacks get so bad that my heart races, I get nauseated, I sweat and sometimes pass out. Or I even cut. I don't think that there is a natural cure for panic attacks, at least mine anyways because mine come from PTSD, so I need to keep up with my therapy and take meds to help me handle them better.

네 재단포 상태에서는 말씀하신대로 옷 사이즈보다 조금 더 여유를 줘서 재단포 안에만 들어가게 프린트를 하면 될터인데, 이것같은경우에는 분명 아래판에 잉크가 새어나올터인데 그것을 어찌 처리하는지가 궁금해서 올린 포스트였습니다.

주위 의견은 기계로 찍는거고 해당 부분에 대해서 왠만큼 자동화가 되어있을것이다라는게 주된 의견이네요- :)

Hi Todd, I completely understand what you're talking about. I think that the reason most ex-christians hate the church is because the churches have stolen our love and acceptance away from our parents.

I am 35 years old and I have never once heard my father say to me that he loves me. But he will stand up in front of a church and tell everyone how much he loves the lord and jesus and he does not even know if either one exists. But I know for 100% sure that I exist, but yet our parents will praise and devote a lot of time worshipping an invisible myth and the preacher.

Religions offer conditional love, as long as you'll kiss the church members and the preachers asses they will love you, but if you tell them it's all a crock of shit, then they will hate you and ostrasize you.

Ja efter som Fool idag hade domarna med sig i en match där United blev bortdömd så många gånger så är väl 5 tilläggs minuter väl befogat till Fools fördel då de fick in ett mål till på ett jagande United.
Jag tycker att Carragher bör bli utvisad, Vidic skulle också ut även om Kuyt faller väldigt lätt så ska inte Vidic där o göra och det är en solklar förhindring. Men domaren idag var inte konsekvent alls och hade inte matchen under så bra kontroll, tyvärr. Jag hade hellre sett Howard Webb i denna match då ja tycker han är kanske den bästa domaren i PL.
Mascheranos utvisning känns ju kanske lite billig också men han satsar för fullt, och med all rätt och då släpar såklart van der saar med benen för att få kortet.
För att summera matchen så tycker jag ändå att Fool var det effektivare laget idag och var farligare framåt. Man Utd var helt för ineffektiva idag tyvärr och det gör mig så förbannad :/
Samtidigt som domaren var okonsekvent så anser ja inte att det är helt rätt att skylla på honom alltid eftersom ett lag som Manchester United ska vara bättre framåt.
Life's a bitch, och det är hemskt att vara Man Utd supporter just idag :/
Vi får glädjas åt att Fool endast ligger på femte plats i ligan.

Ang. vilken spelare som blivit fälld mest så tror jag inte på Walcott och inte heller Lennon då de har varit borta en del, om ja inte minns fel :S
Drogba ligger väldigt bra till skulle jag tro och eventuellt Torres. Men mitt svar blir nog Drogba ändå. Skulle vilja gissa på någon annan otippad men Drogba ligger mycke ner, och de beror också på vad du menar med fälld..

I ended up using them and spoke with a Rep who seemed pretty promising so I thought it over a few days and said what the hell so I did it. I received the contract and really combed through it very carefully. I wrote out the things I had concerns on and called the Warranty Company they sell the warranty off to and asked them in specific words what it detailed of. Of course they played stupid and asked me to read the contract and what’s listed is covered and what isn’t is not. Well duh!! Knowing that they would say that I started to get really detailed and asked under transmission it just states Transmission Casing. So does that mean it’s just the casing….she paused for a minute and said if it says that than yes. So internals isn’t covered…No. Okay is the Radio and Command Unit (GPS) covered. She reply’s only factory equipment, well it is factory…she states, is it in the book….I stated no, she said than well its not. I also bought the Radio Warranty as well at additional costs. So I asked okay since I bought the extra coverage and the GPS is built in than the warranty I bought is useless. She states no it’s still good to have but since it’s built in how are you going to cover it? No response. At this point I’m like WTF the guy who was selling me this told me I had the closest to factory bumper to bumper warranty which covered everything.

As stated before this Company is working off of volume or something and is willing to get people in knowing that they probably wont read the fine prints in this case they were wrong. Also as stated in previous posts if you’re in it longer than a few days or so they penalize you for the refund or hate to say it you’re stuck in it. So I am here posting my experience….save yourself the time and don’t even bother calling them. Spread the word and help people from getting screwed over!!!

Sorry guys, Bela fleck is an amazing musician. First of all, he writes all of the songs. Also, if you really think he sucks try listening to some of the stuff he does with edger myer. Some of those compisitions are so complex that it makes my mind hurt just thinking about them. Bela fleck has done for the banjo what jimmi hendrix did for the eletric guitar. Also, I dont think jeff coffien is the most talented of the 4, in fact, back from 1990 to like 1995 they didnt even have jeff, they had a man by the name of howard levy. Howard Levy was by far the most talentled of the group because of his piano playing and most of all because of the way he can play the harmonica.
He is one of the first people to be able to play a harmonica in a fully chromatic fassion. I.E. he can pick up an E harmonica and play a song in any key and then pick up a G harmonica and play the same song in any key.... You guys obviously dont get what a diefines a good musicain... ANd if you were to see this group live you might change your tune... Pun intended.

I purchase the 8125 yesterday and changed nothing about my voice plan. I have no data plan, I assumed since it has wifi i could use it with my home broadband connection just until i decide if i want to keep it and then i would purchase a data plan. I have yet found out how to connect it to my home connection.

There are lots of traits that I find attractive, but it's they don't all have to be present. For example, a handsome face is of course nice to have, but if he's got a super-duper body then the face can be a little less than perfect. You meet a guy, you're attracted to each other, you have sex. You have no intention of picking out curtains or exchanging house keys, but that doesn't preclude the possibility of having a great time (hopefully). Everyone thinks this tube will be safer than the kite tube. I have a kite tube and I LOVE it. The thing is with all these horrible crashes is that the people that are getting on are not taking the necesary cautious measures. This is the 2nd summer I've rode it and i haven't crashed yet. I can go 20 feet in the air for a good 1,000 yards with a straight shot on a calm day. The Manta Ray does look fun but I saw a video of a guy nose dive face first after leaning to far forward. Ouch.

The cold hard fact is no tube is safe that flies, its not gonna be. You just gotta have the guts to get out there and try it with someone who is a safe driver.

At the corporationn where I work in Oklahoma City, we have these same panels outside the conference rooms on all the floors of our office tower. They're really handy, especially in regards to the always-in-demand, huge meeting rooms. We just reserve a room and a time on our corporate intranet home and you can also use the panel outside the room to see who has the room for what and when.

I have been to ALOT of events that have been badly planned over the years, but this one has to take the cake. I feel bad for Bora, but yet at the same time, I didnt see him anywhere. What were you thinking man? People paid $60 for a show that started at 5:00. I was also in the front of the line @ 4:00, and it was just a joke from the start. I mean honestly..... there were about 1000 people in line waiting for HOURS.... would it have killed Bora to personally come out to the line and let people know what was goin on? There was 2 people workin the door with electronic scanners that werent working, and a laptop that kept shuttin off because of the lack of power running to the whole show. Then, I finally get in @ 7:30, only to see how jacked up this event REALLY was. Tiesto came on @ 11, and played for 2 hours (and not that well either). You wont see me up in Hartford for a LOOONG time!

I believe that's a great philosophy! You see that sense of eventuality (also combined with survival of the "fittest") in the opensource movements. I also believe there's further proof of it in the "del facto standards" that often exist (or perhaps persist).

I would say "unfortunately" the enterprise adoption has been slower, but personally I don't want my bank rapidly assuming something like OpenID until there's a lot more vetting...

So the eventuality of it is a good thing, even if sometimes it's still frustrating.

Bottom line is when it comes to consoles smaller is better. The small revision of the PS2 is awesome. Looks good with all my other components, it's easy to move around and doesn't take up any space.

Why on earth would Sony make the PS3 bigger than the orginal XBOX? Thats why I eneded up getting a PS2 .. because the XBOX was simply too enormous (the games I play run on both systems) ...

This is Jay, the guy mentioned in the original post. I stay up pretty late and the two nights when my roommate's car and my neighbor's car were hit, the cars was no further than 20ft. from my bedroom window and I was awake until 3am. I have thin windows and can generally hear what's happening on the street very easily so if I was awake I would have heard it. Thus, I'm in agreement with Megan, that whoever is doing this, they're doing it early in the morning - probably before dawn.

I am with you, Brian. PR 3.0 was hype, and unnecessary. I sympathize with those of you who are trying to bring PR along, but I have also observed what you observed: a bizarre hostility to new media and an equally puzzling identification with old media among PR people who (I guess) see their franchise disappearing if Big Media declines.

Or maybe it's just that they knew what their job was when Big Media was king, and now they don't know. To listen to them defend the major news media against the upstart bloggers and amateurs with a printing press is, well, strange.

I thought your post was very intelligent.

When I first read this I though, "Gee, they don't do that here." Then I thought about it. Having had a Tivo PVR in the house for over a year, I wouldn't notice if they did. We pretty much time shift all our TV using the Tivo. We'll wait until 20 minutes into an hour show to start watching it, so we can skip the commercials.

The only exception to this was yesterday when we Tivo'd the Super Bowl, so we could skip the game and watch the commercials.

What's my point? I don't know. It's early. I see the Tivo as the greatest invention ever when it comes to choice in television viewing. Sure it may keep anonymous statistics about my viewing habits, but so what? I want the shows I watch to stay on the air, so why wouldn't I want people to know I watch them? Of course some suits seem to think that using the Tivo is theft (http://www.ctdata.com/articles/2002/05/02/03412...).

Anyhow, guess I'm just saying they can't make me watch stuff I don't want to anymore. :-)

If you can run your own unix email server, you can run spamassassin and use the collected spam to train bogofilter and then combine them you won't see much spam. :-)

Actually I have mine setup to bounce stuff detected as spam as 'no such user' which slowly seems to be getting me off of a lot of spam lists.

#69 I donâ€™t think Shannyâ€™s play calling is too conservative. Heâ€™s still getting a feel for just what his new offense can do. The big problem in the Red zone has been the lack of consistent yardage form the running game. Those really tough 2-3 yard gains down inside the 10 just havenâ€™t been there with Tatum bell. I think Shanny needs to put Mike Bell back in as the starter, and especially inside the Red zone. If nothing more than to keep the defense just a bit more honest. That should help open up the bootleg, and the quick passes to the underneath receivers.

Remember, Shanny just got himself a brand new race car. You donâ€™t go full throttle down the race track till youâ€™ve felt the car out enough to know just what it can and canâ€™t do. I think after 3 games heâ€™s got a pretty good idea, and I expect to see the Red zone offense to start looking a lot more like the late 90â€™s red zone offense under Elway. Play action, and tight ends, fullbacks underneath. Cutler has the arm to fire that ball fast and hard enough to hit the misdirection sideline to sideline passes down there.

I think that a lot of you are mistaken about how mining operations work. My father used to operate a dragline for open pit coal mining and any open pit mine is run in a similar fashion. I thought that you would worry more about the land being raped and torn up than about oil wells being sunk to find oil or the tar sands being cleaned to normal sand. It sounds like priorities are backwards as you just want to pick your battles and go with what is convient for your own arguments.

No, a glear glass bottle wouldn't work, as glass reflects much of the UV, and the intensity would be too low.

Solar stills won't remove all cysts or bacteria

This will work quite well if the water is filtered through coffee filters, as mentioned by Eric, or clean cloth to remove particulates.

I would rather see it built out of glass, steel, or copper, to avoid carcinogens and xenoestrogens from the plastic contaminating the water.

Many supermarkets now have drop bins just inside the front door for recycling plastic bags.

My favourite back-up option if I happen not to have my own bags when venturing into the store is to grab some bags from the bin on my way in. Make sure to check them out when loading up to avoid big holes or anything nasty (*run-on alert*: I have never found anything nasty in a bag yet, but I don't know whose bags these were, and it is best to be sure they are clean enough for my food, which is sometimes painfully overpackaged anyway and would be unharmed if submerged in a vat of sewage).

What I would be really interested in seeing is a line of power tools that utilize this concept. I hate that my circular saw, jig saw, table saw, miter saw, router, sander, etc. all have separate motors. At least some of these could be combined into an interchangeable system, I imagine.

These are admittedly energy-intensive devices, but that is not the point here. Unlike kitchen appliances, the hand tool equivalents to these devices require maybe 20-100 times as long to achieve the same results. For all but industrial applications, where many tools may be in use simultaneously, an interchangeable system could turn a whole-garage workshop into a compact, maybe even portable job case.

I find an important point in this story to be the shifting emphasis from rules to people. Here we see drivers who are aware of their surroundings and perils inherent in operating massive vehicles (even an Echo or Insight in motion is wildly massive relative to our bodies). The paradigm that I often see is drivers who see nothing but the road directly in front of them, oblivious to the many other important areas of activity on the roads--in particular those areas in which cyclists and pedestrians are most likely to be traveling--and I think this arises from a sense that "as long as I follow the rules of the road, I am invulnerable."

It would be nice to see more drivers realize that stopping at a sign, signaling a turn, going on green, etc. is not enough--you actually have to pay attention to what everyone else is doing in a dynamic way.

If everything is brand new, what happens after the cycle? Is it sold second-hand to non-students?

I'd love to see a "store 'til next year" option, so you get your same suite of stuff back the next Fall in whatever new digs you're in (still a money-maker for the proprieters, but a money-saver for the clients), as well as an option to select used items at a discount based on, say, a 5-star condition rating.

I guess this eats into the business model, but it would be more cyclical than inputing new items every year and shunting all the used stuff somewhere else at the end of the year. It might also mean that the stuff would be maintained better--if you're renting and getting new stuff next year, you're not likely to take very good care of what you've got.

The setup that we are all responding to is a solar or wind powered unit, which doesn't cost you a thing but the machine itself. It will work around the clock or when the sun shines or when the wind blows. You can't hug a tree much harder than that. This is neat... I think, but isn't it reflective on both sides when in "mirror mode?" Is anyone suggesting with a straight face that buildings save 30% on air conditioning by having mirrors inside instead of letting in the daylight? Maybe not.

Still, the "flick of the switch" seems disingenuous if we are talking about filling the intestitial space with either hydrogen or oxygen--it does not sound like a passive system, but an active one requiring gas storage tanks, compressors, and an architecturally complicated infrastructure to support it.

Don't we already have reflective films that achieve this function? I think the applications mode-switching are somewhat limited.

I think that monitors may be a special--albeit unfortunate--case, in that the arrival of affordable LCDs to replace functional CRTs is a bit more of a revolution in the state of the art than are the incremental changes of a bit more memory and a processor a little bit faster. Replacing CRTs with LCDs does reduce electricity consumption, but I wonder how long one has to use the LCD to offset the negative effects of added disposal and transportation costs.

I think that inexpensive computers are a major contributor to the problem, because they may really need to be upgraded long before a more expensive unit. It has been my experience that buying a more expensive computer will keep me satisfied with its performance as long or longer than its hardware holds up. My current machine started having problems after 6 years, but I was able to buy an identical system on ebay for a mere $200, so I now have all the spare parts I need to keep this perfectly good system going for many more years, plus in the process I have learned how to take apart and put back together the system, so I will be ready to dismantle it for recycling its constituent parts when the time eventually comes.

Not all commenters seem to understand that this would not mean the CFL gestapo would inspect each home to ensure no incandescents were burning, only that retailers would no longer be able to carry bulbs that can be readily replaced by CFLs.

Personally, I am not wholly comfortable with an outright ban, and the idea of taxing the ridiculously inexpensive incandescents is somewhat appealing, if it heightens awareness about the economic cost of running the bulbs and provides a revenue stream by which to subsidize and promote the benefits of CFLs.

One concern that I have is that CFLs have such a long lifespan, they are bound to be seen as energy hogs before the time their usefulness has ended. It is difficult to impose legislative mandates to promote a product whose relevance in the marketplace may extend only for a decade or two.

Of all the items that can and should be upcycled, milk crates must be among the least urgent. Unless they are severely damaged, these remain immensely useful to all sorts of people--not just as dorm room furniture.

Not to belittle the effort here, but I think there are single-use objects more routinely sent to landfill that need rescuing much more than these crates, which tend to be very long-lived.

In our household, the consensus is that there is no consensus. I have typically felt that the microwave is not especially dangerous, while my wife has typically been more wary.

When my wife became pregnant, however, we took greater care and did not operate the microwave when she was near. The fact is that we don't know one way or the other (I mean "we" as in she and I, not the collective "we"), and chose to err on the side of caution, because if there is any risk at all, I think gestation would be a particularly vulnerable period.

There is some social value in community activity over, say, streaming video at home, and unless you get 100 people commuting to the multiplex, there is economic and environmental value as well.

That said, I think the mobile movie theater is a poor solution to the question of "permanent structure for temporary use," first because I don't understand why a movie house is "temporary use," and second because multiuse spaces solve the problem with greater efficiency, comfort, and ease. If a movie theater is open from 3 PM to midnight, maybe it can double for other uses in the mornings. If you are talking about small towns or rural, sparcely populated areas, the town hall, community center, or church can be a movie theatre among its other thirty uses, right?

The convenience argument masks a reflex toward inertia and a refusal to get in step with the rest of the developed world. Here are some other considerations:
1. Coins have an accessibility value for persons with disabilities, especially the blind, as they are more readily discerned and differentiated than bills of the same size.
2. Coins will not destroy the vending industry, they will assist it. First of all, the machines are not going to the dump. The coin-handling mechanisms can easily be swapped out without trashing the entire machine, and the ability to use readily-available dollar coins will allow users to purchase increasingly expensive items from machines (think bus fares, toll booths, and parking meters too). The prospect of never seeing a machine spit out a bill with slight imperfections is itself incentive enough to make the shift.
3. To the extent that using coins makes cash transactions less desirable, it may help move toward virtual currency with credit cards and smart cards, which beats paper currency too.

Yeah, I think of this every day when I hear the fridge running to compete with the heater, while I see ice all around just a few feet away, outside.

I would like to see a more passive system for home use, where blower fans are not as necessary. Maybe northern homes could have a built-in "cold box" in an exterior wall, with a simple louvred opening in the back to let in cold air when the exterior temperature is lower than the air in the box. Then you could unplug the fridge for the better part of the winter.

I think that in some places homes used to have little cubbies of this kind for keeping milk, because my uncle tells a story about falling off a ladder while painting a house, and the paint flying through an opening and into the kitchen.

This is awesome. I have done a lot of work with Habitat for Humanity, and I find that they will not use or accept used materials--it is just too much of a hassle to do all of the legwork vs. using all virgin materials, and I think some people feel that it would be degrading or insulting to give the homeowners anything "second-hand." I'd love to see more of these places all around the country/world--it just makes sense.

The bags shouldn't be pre-filled... visitors should have to go around to all of the booths and only collect the crap that they want to throw away in a year. They don't have to take the crap that they want to throw away immediately.

I understand that sponsors want to get their brand into the hands of as many people as possible, though, so maybe they should have giant "I don't want this crap" bins (which are actually labeled with exactly this phrase) at the exits. That way the companies who are giving away the crap can see just how little visitors want a giant paperclip bearing their logo, or at worst they can try to give them away the next time instead of ordering another 50,000.

I used to be a caretaker on a nature preserve in New Jersey, and have had to dispose of a goose carcass or two from a public lawn adjacent to a lake on occasion, and I admit that it did cross my mind that all these geese (and there are a LOT) could become a vector for avian influenza. How would that factor into the urban wildlife equation?

Because the Canada's hanging around the suburbs don't really migrate they would not be a primary in-vector for avian flu. However, the local flocks could, hypothetically, become infected by other migrating waterfowl, in which case the 12 gage shotguns would be a blazing under the guise of public health protection. Carcases would go to the incinerator or landfill.

If it came to that, other cultural norms would have to change as well. For example, recent studies in Asian cities have show that a high percentage of cats found outdoors in areas where bird flu virus outbreaks occurred, show signs of contact with the virus. It only makes sense because cats hunt birds. Cats not kept indoors during pandemic would get the same treatment as the geese, SPCA not withstanding.

The logical prevention measure (and I doubt that Homeland Security or CDC has even thought about this) would be to harvest these urban geese sufficient to reduce the standing populations before a virus hits.

Vehicles are a bit of a special case, though, because they are (or can be) public declarations of self in a way that light bulbs and air conditioners can never be. You don't have to point out what "good you are doing" in a Prius the way you must if you want to explain how much energy your new washer saves.

Because of this, an SUV driver who gets that washer, builds geothermal into the new place, and forks out big bucks for LEDs, still comes off looking like a big d*ck in the public eye.

By selling the anti-SUV argument as a case against the uncouth or gawdy (because green is sexy, right?), you can get people thinking in the right direction. Once they have an mpg meter on their dashboard, and they start thinking about how much fuel they were wasting all those years, and for nothing, you'll see a snowball effect as they start to drive less, consolidate trips, and move into these other areas of energy conservation.

I have to disagree, drewzen. I think the posters' point is that it is not about the building, it is about the corporate culture of McDonald's Corp.

From "The store is located in the LEED-certified Abercorn Common retail development," I gather that McDonald's had no choice but to build in this fashion in order to get their wares and their brand into this development. To TH skeptics who know how devastating the fast food industry is (primarily in meat production, packaging waste, and human health effects), it does not demonstrate a step toward corporate responsibility, but rather the lengths to which the company will go to ensure that no enclave or niche of human existence is bereft of golden arches. If a shopping plaza consisted of only medieval style stoneworks, there would be a medieval style stonework McDonald's. If a development were built with no roofs on any of the buildings, you'd get an open-air McDonald's. They're just doing what they have to do to keep opening restaurants, and it doesn't hurt to get some green headlines while they're at it.

...or maybe some architectural firm just had one heck of a salesperson making that pitch.

I'm with you, Clare. I have tried and tried to give things away, and it is not for lack of response that I have had trouble with a lot of items. I try to be fair and let the first responder claim the item, but often the first responses are the most flaky. I had 25 responses for a Club (car security device), and I still have the darn thing in my basement because nobody would follow through to come get it. Maybe all their cars were stolen.

And that brings me to another point--people will be very wasteful with resources to claim nearly worthless items if those items are free. I have on more than one occasion had to talk people out of coming to get items worth maybe $1, because they were planning to drive 20-30 minutes each way to pick them up. Let's make sure we're doing more good than harm.

Has anyone seen Life and Debt? After learning a bit about the dubious practices on multinational corporate plantations (Dole, Chiquita, et al.), I really go out of my way now to source nicer bananas.

The problem is not food safety, either. Conventionally grown bananas are treated only marginally different than organic ones (which is why organic bananas are only pennies more expensive, as opposed to, say, organic strawberries, which are much more safe in terms of chemical exposure, but cost a bundle if you can find them at all). The problem is the treatment and pay of labourers and of the ravaging effect of these enormous plantations on local communities. I expect that an organic banana from a company with unfair practices is no more fair than a conventional banana from that company.

Whole Foods carries Earth bananas, grown by Earth University in Costa Rica, and even when I do all of my grocery shopping elsewhere, I stop at Whole Foods to get these Bananas. I was disappointed just yesterday, though, to see that WFM had some Dole bananas interspersed with the Earth ones.

Conscientious consumers should be wary of attempts such as this one to use marketing to lull us into feeling good about their products. Clearly Dole is directing this exclusively to purchasers of organic produce, who--as Michael Pollan astutely showed us--are interested in the story of their food, not necessarily the numbers. These labels signal nothing about changes in production or labour practices, only that a marketing firm developed new stickers and a new website to feed us their story and their bananas.

Show me a third-party assessment of various banana plantations and I might be convinced otherwise. Until then, my banana dollars will be withheld from the likes of Dole, and especially Dole Organics (part of the price premium is clearly to pay for those labels and the rather dubious website, and to the marketing firm behind them).

The absolute best way to disengage from the frenzy is to share, borrow, give away, Freecycle, inherit, garage sale, ebay, or reuse all of that baby stuff out there. SO MUCH stuff sits in closets, attics, and basements waiting for that "if/when we have the next one," but these are durable goods that could be used and returned before "the next one." Most parents know enough other parents whose kids are 12 months older or more, and that is a great resource for things like strollers, car seats, swings, bathtubs, and clothes. Our four-month-old even got "pre-softened" cotton diapers and diaper covers from friends whose two-year-old had worn them.

I was recently perusing DellOutlet.com, where Dell offloads refurbished, scratch & dent, and returned-as-new units. One of the selling points is that these all come with new boxes and packaging. Does not really seem necessary. In fact, they could probably add a shipping label for returning the box and styrofoam--maybe charge a $5 deposit and either you keep the box for that price or you reseal and return it empty for a refund.

Also, the invoice for a computer I bought for a woman in my neigbourhood contained a line item for "ENVIRO FEE," but the amount was $0.00.

At work, it is easy to keep your own hand towel and bring it with you to the washroom. I put a small hook under my desk where it hangs to dry. In addition to using neither the dryer or the paper, it can help open your coworkers eyes to the magnitude of their daily resource consumption and to the ease and elegance with which that can be reduced.

One thing I never see mentioned in discussions like this is the access to the beautiful back country for people with physical limitations that motorized vehicles like motorcycles and ATV's provide. As someone in that condition since I was under 4 years old, I was fortunate to grow up in a family that rode dirt bikes because I was able to see parts of the world that I would otherwise never have seen. We were always responsible and stayed on roads and trails, didn't leave behind anything but some tracks (and I suppose some exhaust). Bikes with proper mufflers don't emit as much noise as a thunderstorm so they may not be that bad for the wildlife as some people would project. Unfortunately, as is always the case in life, the irresponsible people ruin it for the rest. But once again, to those of you totally opposed to motorized vehicles in the back country, did you ever consider what you might miss out on if you had certain physical limitations?

The oil sands pump out lots of CO2 and have fairly toxic trailing ponds and use tons of water.

Having worked in the area, I dont find it much different than any large mine tho. The suncor site is about 20km long and 5 km wide. The forests in the area are not rain forests either. However the oil sands companies need to be required to replant the tree like logging companies.

One good thing about the oil sands is that they have economy of scale working for them. With increased tech I think they can reduce Co2 by large amounts. But these companies will need to be forced to do so.

Think of any "green" product and a case can be made that it is more resource hungry than the conventional product it is replacing.

For example, cloth shopping bags might be re-usable but have to transported (at much higher cost than less dense plastic bags) using fossil fuels. If they are imported, then cotton production may be displacing food production in the country of origin in addition to even more transport costs.

Similarly organic produce might be tastier but is resource hungry. If six billion people went organic, there would be widespread starvation.

Perhaps the only way to consume fewer resources is to move to a village in a developing country where people (on an average) consume a fiftieth of the resources consumed in the Western world.

Now that would be green. And imagine the benefits if you also started a charitable school or hospital while you were there.

Please consider expanding this into a full blown discussion. I have had a tough time with the parental controls, but I don't know if that is just because of the tech people I have spoken with or not. My impression is that your child has access to your credit card information and Microsoft expects you as the parent to enforce the right behaviors from your child and not their system. Because of this, we are no longer subscribers. I would not give copies of my credit cards to my children or my debit card and though I have every intention of raising them to be responsible and loving children, this does not make sense to me. We kept finding either the limits were too restrictive so he couldn't create a custom gaming environment or something (gold account activities) or else he could shop with my credit card at marketplace with just a few clicks. I am hoping there is a bit more clarification of these issues. I don't use the XBOX and he does but I would prefer to not "monitor his use" (a phrase I saw in some googling of this topic) I do have other things to do in life as opposed to supervising all of his gaming time so parental controls seems like a super option but if there are drawbacks maybe there are workarounds. For now, live is not an option for me.

The state attn has got to have some kid of DNA from the F.D.L.E. From what the parents wrote from this kids school and even some kids were able to get on the lounge at that time. Just saying it is blown up bigger than what it is. If the girl was tied up and DNA was found, U would so much have a case. I am sure this is not at the top of the state attn case. Any Judge is going to look for DNA. Rape kit anything. There is nothing except talk. Even I am starting to think that is blown up bigger than it is. I am making this quick but why parents did not want their kids hanging around is some things that were brought up. It leads to trouble. Just as a example, you said the Jeep was heresay. DNA on her clothes. I can tell you that it can be extracted and sent to a lab and results in 48 hours along with spit or sperm. It has happen in many other cases that there is a match and very easy to test that person. It just seems like everyone is going through the here say thing. It makes the case look big.

I believe it is linked to this. That was not a profile I would ever think a 12 yr old would write with her personel number on it. Thats why I can't be all out for the kids in this. If it was a cut and dry case like most are, I would probably help anyway and for free through my company. The sad part is the parents not monitoring anything that they said they were. My kid would have broken legs if it was mine. One thing for the defense is that they have to say there was a motive for young children. A profile like what I saw in the blog with the girls personel E mail and number and date posted on myspace is a little much. I am sure this other characters attn is all over this. As for business and properties most people that are building that special nest egg put properties in trusts and other things. Given you one example; say you get into a car accident someone gets killed. Ok you have a 10 20 10 policy. 2 years later the people of this person that you killed on accident come after you. Well if u don't have anything oh well. If there is a title search it will reveal nothing. Having something in trust is like being a string master on a puppet. Unless you know addresses or other people close to the person that might be in control , You can look them up that way. But it is very hard. There names just don't pop up. People are not dum, there is alot to learn.

If this was something worth following on the news " my god it would be there". I almost always follow the parents and victims on these things givin advice on many web sights. I enjoy helping people. This was a one time thing than vanished. Lets keep the smoke screen down and stay focus on your kids. If this does go to court I see it being a jury. Maybe I am confused. But the judge did throw away 8 counts out of the 10. That is why he made bond. This normally does not happen. They stay for a long time in jail. I am not on either side just being neutral on the whole thing. I run a invest company and I made it past this guys mommies house. I really did not see no jeep, but a new Jag XKR conv. I give up. I do know there was a lack of good parenting which is why they got in trouble to begin with. They weren’t perfect but they were a lot better parents than what any article made them out to be. I am sure everyone has heard the line that if you make a deal that your punishment will be less severe. That is exactly what happened in this case. The sad part is that after a deal was made and they began serving their time, it was proven that everything you read about wasn’t true. But because that is positive, that is something you will never read about. Bad things happen to good people. The Straw’s aren’t perfect and I guarantee that none of you are either. Anyhow these are the FACTS that I have. If you still feel the need to bash that’s your prerogative. I am just here to tell you to not believe everything you read. I know none of this may matter to some, but I wanted to put the facts out there. I don’t have much more information that I am willing to give out and will probably never be back on this page again as I just came across it today.

Voted mid-afternoon on touch-screen in Berwyn. Like "Mom", I found it to be easy. Two opportunities to check your answers -- one on screen and then when the paper prints on the side. At the end the paper drops into the secure box, they say. So there is a paper trail. I wonder a bit what would happen if there is a problem with the machine later in the day. Would it lose the votes up to that point? Don't know. But there is a paper record if everything is as advertised. There was a little wait and turnout seemed moderate. Staff competent and courteous.

The people of chicago or cook county elected him not the state people of Illinois. He raised 27 million dollars this go around and that is why is back in not because of the programs he started that cant be paid for. Hahah you can Scoff at the posters scoffing but I agree with him. COmparing her sound to the Neptunes/Timbaland is a bit of a stretch. To those who think electing trustees will solve the problem, let me relate this story. I am a U of I professor. My department head was contacted by a trustee to ask him to let the son of his friend skip a prerequisite so he could graduate early.

The trustee was Tom Lamont. He was elected. And he was "fully vetted" by the alumni association.

What we need are not more wealthy trustees who get the position by making big contributions to the Governor or the Alumni Association. We need EDUCATORS to run our state's largest educational institution. Educators never get selected because they cannot afford the entrance fees (i.e. big money donations).

VAIO is now totally crap. Too much heat and very bad WIFI drivers. For virtualization the parallels desktop works just fine. It can virtualize the desktop without any issue.

Went to the SWB Yankees vs Charlotte on Sat night (I live in Charlotte, but originally from the Bronx). They had the biggest crowd of the season so far (over 10,000) - we had great seats, 5th row behind the SWB dugout, and almost everyone in our section was originally from NY, decked out in Jeter/CC/A-Rod/Tex jerseys. To our suprise, none other than Mr. October, Reggie Jackson, threw out the first ball to Chris Chambliss (Charlotte manager). Although SWB lost, George Kontos pitched a strong 8 innings, but was done in by errors. The hitting really sucked - maybe it was the pressure of playing in front of Reggie, but A-Jax looked lost; as bad as Ransom and Shelley Duncan were, they are still better than Berroa. Their baserunning was also horrendous.

Second, thanks for the informative updates. I have been long on a couple of stocks (with only fundamental research), and haven't been able to trade the stocks you mentioned. I'd like to correct some errors, inaccuracies and misconceptions here.

Firstly, Qaraite Judaism isn't a sect but a Jewish denomination or movement. If we were to adhere to the meaning of the word "sect" across the board, we should be labelling Orthodox Judaism a sect as well.

Secondly, what the 14 converts swore fealty to was the God of Israel and the people of Israel, not to Qaraite Judaism.

Lastly, I just can't get enough of your metaphor for Orthodox Judaism as a hierarchy fashioned sort of like the Roman Catholic Church. You go!
