in Choosing Man’s Best Friend: A Guide to Canine Companions on Art of Manliness
No mention of greyhounds? Thought a high energy breed because of their racing, greyhounds are just the opposite. They're sprinters who love to run for a short time, then they morph into couch potatoes the remaining 23 3/4 hours of the day. They're gentle and make wonderful pets. You may have to watch some for prey instinct when it comes to small furry critters since they're sighthounds.

Oh, and about those roaming herds of chihuahuas...

in Twitter To Go: How one local coffee shop used Twitter to double his clientele on Mr Tweet Blog
Fantastic! I am so glad to see this kind of thinking! Technology need not alienate; it can bring people together and open new ways of communicating.

That said, I work for a corporately-owned coffee shop that runs more like a small shop in that my boss hires friendly, outgoing people and we get to know our customers. We try to learn their names and anticipate what their regular orders are, know what's going on in their lives, etc. I always think it's kind of like Cheers, only no drunks. ;) It's the most fun I've ever had at a job.

Just a couple weeks ago, I started thinking about introducing some sort of Twitter contact for our local shop, even if it's just to let our regulars know when we get new roasts in or have specials going on. Of course, we have to get approval from corporate for stuff like that, but I really think it a wise move.

in Bookmarking in Google’s Chrome Browser on CloudNotes
I am unimpressed with Chrome's handling of bookmarks, too. I rely heavily upon Google Bookmarks since I can access them anywhere, and I am surprised they don't allow users to customize what app or service the bookmarks button uses, be it Google Bookmarks or any number of online bookmarking services. I *really* hope they'll integrate that in the future. And what of RSS support?

I have a link for it:

I am trying to find the Monticello Student Loan ad showing the guy hitting on the student at an outdoor cafe. He says corny pick up lines like "Hiff you were a laser, hhhu would be set on stunning." LOL

The agonizingly personal subjects people broach in public places amaze me. Why do some lack an inner censor, or - at the least - common sense? I think our society's marriage with the mobile electronics culture has made us feel oddly buffered in our contact with others. We forget when conversing in public places that we are within earshot of many. The ironic thing is, if one breaks into one of these conversations, perhaps to ask if the subjects would want their personal tragedies discussed in such detail in a public place, the people will likely be offended at the perceived eavesdropping.

If your squirrels are anything like their gray Ohio cousins, they were contemplating the most efficient way to gnaw off sections of your lights and (for lack of a better word) squirrel them away for a later rodent soirée. ;)

I enjoyed this article. Thanks for taking us on your winter's walk in the Windy City, and for introducing us to Irma. People are people, wherever you go.
