in I’m going solo on Pleasure and Pain
Hi Whitney - be true to your values, never loose your passion, and always follow your heart.
And don't be afraid to ask those friends with steady day jobs to buy lunch for a few months.
You'll do great and we can all say we knew Whitney Hess in 2008 when she made the move to go out on her own.
Best of luck!

in I Am Not A Woman Blogger on Pleasure and Pain
Whitney,
We are who we are. Red heads with opinions!
The only time it really matters is at concerts -- when the lines to the women's room is over a block long.
---
Seriously though, I have mentored young women and there are still many who feel inferior and need extra encouragement. Don't loose site of that, and help when you can. It's not a sexist thing, it's just a fact. Be happy you're strong, and share!
All the best.

in Readers, let’s talk on Pleasure and Pain
Hi Whitney,
Just a note to say thanks. You've done an outstanding job with your blog. I enjoy your feedback on web 2.0 apps.
As a consultant I work with many "Enterprise" companies trying to find their way through this big shift. I always reference your site for examples in my presentations.
I also appreciate your personal attention and responsiveness in twitter.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

in Gary Vaynerchuk - Word of Mouth 2.0 and how it effects your... on Gary Vaynerchuk
Thanks Gary - again right on.
We toasted you at dinner the other night as we finished off the last bottle of our Cantena Vinyards Angelica Zapata 2003 Cabernet. Fantastic wine, you did a video on wines from Argentina.
As I told my guests, no worries, I'll contact Garyvee and he can set us up again with another case, or maybe ship an entire container. It may take a few weeks, I said, but Gary answers all his email.
Smart man! Les, a CEO of a major corporation in Chicago said, Gary V is already a success with me and I don't even know him.
As always, thanks for your posts!

in Why I Don’t Have an iPhone (but might someday) on Pleasure and Pain
Whitney - I use Halo from my Iphone and post to Twitter all the time.
of course, there are some issues with AT&T connectivity, but only in remote areas. For the most part they have been pretty reliable.
When the 3 G comes out I'll be waiting in line.
Thanks again for the post

Whitney - I have fat fingers; travel a bunch and walk & text all the time.
I love my Iphone!
Treat yourself to a birthday gift. I can guarantee that you will love it too.

in Twitter Needs an Offline Mode and an Open Client on Chris Brogan
Does anyone know what the relationship is between the outages and new twitter subscribers, downtime to events, or the influx of new twitterfeeds? It would be interesting to see this graph.
Everyone uses twitter for his or her own reason, but for me, I’m a news junkie. I follow many news sources. I notice these outlets use twitterfeed. Sometimes they have so much tweet output that it is necessary for me to choose to unfollow them just to see my friends.
I too have thought about a solution to the Twitter outages and wonder if the Twitter engineers could come up with a tiered level of service for some types of high volume media outlets. As a twitter subscriber, it would be great if I could toggle these groups on/off without having to unfollow each one individually. I think this would also allow the Twitter folks to throttle recourses during peak times much like data centers throttle bandwidth.
Any thoughts?
