in Banshee Xine backend HowTo on Ivan Zlatev
74141,
I will have to update the backend in order for it to work with the new features of Banshee, etc. I hope I will be able to do that in the near future. As for now you can install gstreamer packages from the pacman repository in order to get video and audio playback of the proprietary file formats.
Cheers,
Ivan.

S.X, what you pasted is not an error, but a suggestion by the Banshee developers for plugin developers. People tested the plugin against 0.11, 0.12, 0.13 and it works fine. What is your exact problem? If you can't play mp3 files then your distribution probably ships libxine compiled without mp3 support.

A normal bluetooth keyboard (HID) would work on any device that supports BT HID devices. So this is only for this particular brand.

I do agree about the +/- in terms of not "compatible" with gnome. But I still think that drop down menus mean more clicking and for such a simple task as a simple note 2 clicks for setting bold is too much. I also agree that advanced users will use Ctrl-B when editing the note (so do I), but I find my self changing formating after the note is written quite often, e.g strike out completed tasks or highlight something important for the next hour, etc - and that is much easier with the mouse and single click formatting changing.

Writing a comment doesn not require having an account, yet it might be more convinient to use it instead of CAPTCHA. But does anyone guarantee me that a human is using the OpenID or a spam bot, whos OpenID was registered by a human?

Thank you for your contribution, too. I will update the patch, see if it applies cleanly on latest uvcvideo and put an update online. Thanks again!

I think it should work fine even with relativly slow internet. Depends how you define hi-speed and low-speed. Check the skype help at http://support.skype.com/index.php?_a=knowledge...

There surely is a way to setup the prefered network? Or may be it remmembers the last network you were on? Anyway, I don't know why and how but on Linux I get the best wireless performance compared not only to mac os x but also to Windows. And that's on my mac + 2 laptops. It might be that crappy D-Link wireless router we've got here... who know's.

Hi,
Please check http://i-nz.net/projects/linux-kernel/ for the last update (25.01.2007). I have updated everything (new patch, new code, new merge with svn head) and it should work just fine now (and yes the previous version was *very* broken...appologies :-) ). Please don't package this yet, because as mentioned on the updated page it's a preview version and we are in the process of integrating it into uvcvideo (and this is what should be packaged imho). I will post news on my blog, when I have some... Stay tuned!

7-Zip works just fine and is fully compatible with most commonly used archive formats (e.g: rar, zip, tar.gz). :-) Also check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Software . I forgot to add that link for reference in the post.

Hey,
I've updated the xine bindings once more. Initially it restricted playing only to "mp3", "ogg", "wma", "asf", "flac". Now I have updated the list to: "mp3", "ogg", "wma", "asf", "flac", "rm", "ac3", "snd", "au", "ram", "ra", "wav", "mpv", "mp2", "mpv2", "mp4", "aif", "aiff".
Please get the newest version again :). Hope it works for you now. Thanks for your feedback.

Hey,
Sorry for the problems. I've just updated the engine to fix the problem. Please delete the old one and get the new one. Also change "engine-name" to xine-engine in the gconftool-2 line.

Hey,
If you want to compile from source and you are on SUSE Linux you will have to install the banshee-devel package. I forgot to add that to the tutorial and now it's there.
Thanks. Hope it works well for you!
P.S don't forget to enable it via gconftool set /apps/Banshee/PlayerEngine type=string xine-engine

I completly agree with the way it is at the moment. Infact I support that. Also I believe that most of the software included on the Add-on CD should not be there. Also I find it funny (may be not the proper word here) that the new Novell eye candy (Xgl/Compiz) is bound to the closed source drivers.

in What’s wrong with this code? OMG!!! on Ivan Zlatev
Basically everything is wrong.
"IMAGE_NT_HEADERS* pe;" should not be a pointer to a structe, but an actual structure and starting from that everything is wrong. :)
