By realtionship material, it was implicit that I meant "for that person." I think we're saying the same thing using different terms.

Angyr CocoaDiva! CocoaDiva Want Commitment! Actually, I agree with you, jumpoffhood is not a step toward a relationship, but I think your assumption is that women think they are going to get saved by being a good jumpoff. Pretty much all women know in their hearts that's not the case. Some might try to fool themselves into thinking it is, but whose fault is that? Why do you assume women are so easily bamboozled and naive?

Hasn't it occurred to you that the reason people are only having hookup relationships with certain people is because they're not relationship material for whatever reason? I doubt people are taking the milk instead of buying the cow because it's cheaper, I think they wouldn't have bought the cow anyway.

Devil's advocate:
If I claim my company makes a good car, but no one's buying my car, and people are clearly buying other cars, isn't it possible the car I make isn't as good as I'm screaming it is? After all, doesn't the market decide?
*Runs and hides*

This is true...the market decides on what is determined to be hot. The company should listen to consumers and give the people what they want. The customer is always right.

Am I the only one questioning whether Smartenup didn't just make up this SoSensual24 character? I mean, I haven't seen dickriding like that since Janet Jacme got out of porn. Either that, or you got a groupie, bruh. Enjoy.

Well met, Gordon! "Insecticons sucking on Energon cubes!" Hilarious! Of course, I wholeheartedly agree with you about the futility of seeking a long term healthy relationship with Nene and them. But there's no reason to hate them for their character flaws. They are what they are. Don't date 'em, but don't hate 'em, I always say.

Smartenup:
The fact that you're casting your lot with a guy that got rejected, and crying about "so called educated black women" and how cofusing they are speaks volumes about your own communication skills. As far as your interpretation of my political analogy, I wouldn't much expect someone of your ilk to understand. What I'm saying is I go for the "take me as I am" school rather than the "Oh, let me mold myself to try to be what you want" school that you went graduated with honors from. Both me and my girl are quite pround of her butt. And unlike you, We don't let the prospect of negative attention keep us hiding under a rock in case some uncouth person acts inappropriately. Having been to the highest of the highbrow and the lowest of the low, trust me, intoxicated dudes will try women regardless of socioeconomic status. I've seen some of the most outlandish shit at establishments of "elegance and class." So you keep on THINKING about how you're gonna let some dude punk you in front of your woman. My girl and I will be kicking it and having fun in the club, unconcerned about getting tried. Your obsession with making everything "thuggish" is kinda funny. Seems like it's a whole generation of educated black dudes that are so scared of confrontation, they piss their pants at the thought of even being assertive. So y'all try to make yourselves feel better by trying to marginalize anything Alpha male-ish as thuggery. I mean, I'm here to help. If you want to learn how to change a tire, I'll help you out.

Smartenup:
First: You got owned by Nia in this little war of words y'all developed.
Second: "and most importantly he asks her “what does she look for in a guy?” See this is the most important part in COMMUNICATION"
That might be the most sucka-ass statement I've ever heard. In fact your whole comment basically read as a treatise in defense of sucka-ass dudes. That's not communication, that's a corny ass line, and dude got what he deserved for it. Basically, he went fishing for her to describe a dude with his characteristics and then threw a hissy fit when she didn't. If he was campaigning with some balls, he wouldn't be worried about what kind of candidates she usually votes for, he'd be pitching the strength of his own platform. On a final note, if someone grabbed my girl's big ol' ass, I wouldn't hesitate to slap the shit out of them in the club. And then check her for wearing that tight ass dress. We may be gentlemen, but we need not forget the key in that word is the men part.

Why is he buying some fool woman he doesn't know from Adam a damn drink in the first place? Citibank's laying off 50,000 people, and this fool's out here sponsoring random women? Coulda sponsored an Ethiopian child or some sh*% instead. And then she had the nerve to give him the once over when he offered her something?!?! The hell is going on in the world?

You seem like the kind of guy who hacks into his girl's myspace page because he doesn't trust her. Just saying. Just a feeling.

Angela:
Long hair and green eyes? Why can't she have a short natural and chocolate brown skin? Why are you trying to play the race card here? I obviously can't respond rationally to someone who's so obviously a colorist.
But in all seriousness, If your sig O asks you a question, you have a responsibility to answer honestly. I'm not advocating deceit here. Just a less possessively jealous feeling of entitlement to know (or share) every detail.

Tried to sneak in and publish this while I wasn't looking and make me look the bad guy, eh, Gordon? As usual, you're way off base. I'm talking about not vomiting out your private relationships wherein they don't affect the current one. You're talking about "her flight lands at nine, my game just rewinds." I'm talking about if I'm flying Delta exclusively now, the ticket agent doesn't need to know that I flew Northwest, Continental, Alsaka Air, and maybe a couple Virgins while Delta was on strike. Merry Berry was smoking crack with a prostitute. That's a little more "little white lie" than I was talking about. And Billy Clint was doing wrong while IN a relationship. I said between. Try again, Gartrell.

Please use the link to send the governor a message expressing your support for having this outrage overturned, particularly if you are a Texas voter. Send the link to your friends and make them send the gov. a message. The only way to exert influence over events like these is to leverage what power you have (votes, tax dollars, etc.). Black people have been very bad at this post civil-rights era. Anyone who doesn't take three minutes to do that has no right to bitch and moan.
I do not think that there is a such thing as "relationship material". I think we are just good and bad fits for certain people. I also think that a lot of people have not learned how to be in a relationship, due to bad role models or having no role models at all.
We are truly a lost people.
