I think Drudge's point is that without the teleprompter, Obama is a bablling idiot.
I like the guy, but if you pay attention to most of his talks, he makes GW Bush sound smart.
If you put several videos of the two side by side, it's quite obvious BHO is no different.

in ParisLemon was right to rip Window 7 Post on Shooting at Bubbles
Reminds me of a story I saw on engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/29/linux-claime...)
that I made a blog comment post about on one of my sites. That post was still recieving comments as recently as this week., yet 12 months later a quick google didn't turn up much else regarding this break thru, and the top hit was the engadget stroy.
It doesn't take too many worthless posts to devalue a blog site completely.

in Is it really about the conversation? on Shooting at Bubbles
Yay, you're getting it.
It really goes to show that the wankers that consider themselves 'INFLUENCERS' are really just playing with themselves.
It goes to show that the technorati top 100 or whatever is a measure, of something, but really doesn't mean squat in terms of a web wide audience.
At the end of the day, Bloggers can buy into whatever VC heavy metric they want, but it is still really the viewer's choice.

in Shared Feeds - a nice idea but only half the idea on Shooting at Bubbles
Digg does it too. The big fear I'd have about this catching on is that it wouldn't be to difficult for an <ahem> evil mind to conjure up ways to tag spam.

I like the idea of <ahem> ideastreaming. I use my news aggregator to aggregate <ahem again> news.
I like how I can enter topics that are of interest to me into google news and then generate an RSS feed for that search. Employment sites will also generate a search specific RSS feed. I've often thought it odd that google doesn't offer the same service for its regular search. Admittedly, one would need to be fairly precise with one's search terms, but I'd think most web savvy RSS users would be up to it.
I see that on wordpress.com, you can create an RSS feed for tags. Also del.icio.us allows RSS creation for tags, that although this post shows 1 save there, ideastreaming doesn't show up on a tag search.
You are all over the page for ideastreaming on technorati, but as you pointed out, no RSS creation facility.

Actually pB there are two ways you can make an RSS feed for tags on Technorati at the moment.
Easy Way:
- Got to http://technorati.com/technology/
- On the far right side of the page you will see Tags from what’s rising
- For example sake click on the blogging tag
- You will then transfer (or should) to http://technorati.com/tag/blogging
- In the upper right corner of the page - right across from the headline listing how many posts are tagged with blogging you will see the RSS button with Subscribe beside it
- Now before subscribing using the provided link in the area just under the Post Tag title you will see the drop down list which is where you can specify the authority you want for the feed.
A way to build a more complex type of Tag RSS feed is to switch to the Advance Search page and scroll down the the Tag Search Section. In the area provided just create the search string that includes the tags you want - i.e.: blogs OR Facebook OR Social Networks .
then click the search button and the resulting page from the search will also have that same RSS subscribe button.
This though IMO is the one area that Technorati needs to do some really serious work but if they do it right they could literally change the face of how we use our RSS readers.

in Software Review: BitTorrent Clients -UTorrent on Shooting at Bubbles
On my version of 1.7.5, there is a search bar in the top right hand corner, with a magnifying glass next to it. If you click just below the magnifying glass there is a drop down menu of torrent search engines that you may like to use.
Another cool feature of this client is that you can set it to autoload a bunch of torrents from a certain directory on start up, and have it shift completed torrents to another directory, for, errr completed torrents I assume. I don't use the autoload feature myself, but i still think its pretty cool.
Another thing I like is the ratio column which indicates how well you have been sharing the torrent with others, if you don't happen to sit and watch it all the time.

Thanks for the heads-up on the search box, don't know how I missed it:) I've kept playing with it since posting the article, and I've run across a couple more handy little things. This is looking to me like the cream of the crop, Azureus is still to come, but I'm hearing some nightmare stories about its resource usage. With as many things as I run at one time, that will be a killer.

With regard to deleting data, I made a comment earlier, and I'm not sure whether it survived the host tranfer or not, but surely a commercial enterprise that relies on data would back said data up?
If everybody suddenly deleted their data in a fit of Scoble-like script kiddie pique, then surely the company would revert to its handy dandy back up tape.
Much better to 'poison' the data first and let it fester and corrupt for a while, then hit em with the script. If their backup organisation is anything like the company I work for then it would be far too expensive and time consuming to find just that piece of information they need.
It's only 2 cents worth, but it's your data now :)
