I saw it on Friday - it didn't necessarily convince me that socialized medicine is the best answer, but the current system is obviously broken.

I think the biggest reason that people are opposed to socialized / universal healthcare is that it will certainly raise taxes. That and the notion that you'd be putting it in control of the government . In light of the amount of corruption in government, that makes people uneasy.

That being said, obviously something needs to be done. I think if people weren't constantly worried about healthcare - there would be more entrepreneurship in America. For people with kids, healthcare is one of the big reasons why they work for large corporations.

Ha - I spent all of yesterday getting together the stuff for my 2006 taxes. What a nightmare.

I will check out your fujitsu scansnap idea - looking at all this accumulated paper gives me headaches.

I actually saw Once last Monday and liked it. It turns out a guy I used to play basketball with - Howard - manages Glen Hansard and the Frames. A mutual friend of ours works in video and flew out to Dublin to do a sort of "epilogue" 1/2 hour documentary about the film, etc. and they showed the two back to back on Monday at the Biograph. The documentary is going to be available on the collector's edition of the soundtrack. If you liked the film, I recommend picking up the soundtrack for the documentary.

Considering you are soon to be a father, I would suggest taking that $600 and starting a college fund. Then when you do have time to hit the trails - which I would say would be somewhere around 2019 - you can buy yourself one of those fancy floating bikes - which you'll need since Lake Michigan will be at your doorstep. Note to self: invent a floating bike.

You passed the 1 hour glucose test? Congratulations - I failed it the first time I took it, but I didn't even study. I walked out after 45 minutes and went to a bar instead.
