in Fox Soccer Channel Pays $7.5 Million For Nielsen Ratings | EPL Talk on EPL Talk
Well Weston I think its something like, up to this point FSC had to tell advertisers that 1 million people were watching there channel. And advertisers were like yeah? Well prove it. FSC had no way to prove it, now with Nielsen rating them, they have hard numbers to show the advertisers.

Watching the PL Review show, the league should really look into implementing some goal-line technology, three decisions that were very very close.

The referee must have had something against West Ham- excuse me "Hammers United" in the match I played, awarded me 3 penalties.

I said that in a comment earlier when the shirts got revealed, even the shirts they gave the players made them look fat.

in Are Manchester City About To Go Into Meltdown? on EPL Talk
I just hope the FA don't punish the players or Hughes with a ridiculous point deduction along the lines of Luton, obviously we are a long way off from that point but just saying.

in Why Sky Sports News Sucks on EPL Talk
Yeah I agree the American blogs are doing a nice job, it will bet tough for the soccer to get a lot of airtime on TV, as ESPN the major cable sports outlet can only show something crazy like 1 minute of olympic footage a night.

Unfortunately I think SamSpur is right, and I would much rather have a returning from injury Bojinov over Vassel.

in ESPN Coverage Hits New Low With West Ham vs MLS All-Stars on EPL Talk
Yeah I mean if you have watched other American sports, that stuff seems pretty par for the course, all star games are usually just opportunities for all the stars to hang out and have some fun. As for Rob Stone, the bitchy the hawk thing was hilarious, and he has been one of the leading crusaders for soccer on ESPN and conversely in America, every chance he gets he rips on Jim Rome and other soccer haters, listen to his podcast with Bill Simmons if you don't believe me.

Did you mean Man City away or home? The bold says away, but then the article and picture are about the home kit.

I doubt hooliganism will hurt America's bid, it is a serious problem no doubt, but its not like the countries we will likely be competing with for the 2018 bid do not have big histories of hooliganism in their past as well.

in How Fox Soccer Channel Can Improve Its Summer Programming on EPL Talk
How about theme days? Like have a Chelsea Tuesday or a Milan Monday, I understand FSC doesn't have the budget to buy more leagues but they could feature more of the leagues they do have rather than airing games in a random order. Or how about today being a red white and blue day, they could at least play some recent US "classics" like the Gold Cup victory, or the friendly matches v. Sweden and Poland ( Just mentioning these because I know for a fact they were shown on FSC live and they have the rights to them)

Ha just thought about my last post, I don't know what I was thinking, I doubt during the season it is 100+, but it is probably still pretty high.

I heard the game rated a 3.1 overnight on a radio show this morning, but I have not seen that confirmed online, can anyone confirm that?

in Fox Soccer Channel Poll on EPL Talk
11-20 for me , during season its 100++ obviously, it will probably go up due to them showing EPL fanzones now, I love those. It was down a little as well because Sky Sports seemed not to really cover football at all.

in Spain-Italy Most Watched Match So Far And Other ESPN Euro Ratings News on EPL Talk
It may be comparing apples to oranges, but for what its worth the average NBA attendance this year was 17,141 , so on that front MLS is only about 600 fans behind one of the 3 major American sports.

Yeah the away shirt is class, I have two problems with the home one though, the dark collar like Pete Page said and also the one stripe on the shorts.

So true Brian. The first time I remember hearing the name Andy Gray was playing World Cup 2002 video game, the line Clive T always used was " Andy Gray pulling himself away from the golf course to be with us today."
