in Stuff That Just Works on Oracle AppsLab
Jake, like Tyler I love Jot, I use it all the time. You can easily link it up with Sandy so instead of doing your todo reminders through twitter, its already built into Sandy. You can also have Sandy link up with your friends so you can send them messages and reminders. Like when its time for Paul to give you guys another raise.

in I Heart TripIt on Oracle AppsLab
I love TripIT, as someone who travels every week its a god send. What I've never understood is why the Airlines and hotels haven't made this part of their points programs. It would be fantastic to automatically be told of someone with a layer in the airport, same hotel or even same flight. It wouldn't be that hard to setup comparing people's interests and other friends they've hooked up with. It would be a simple straight forward approach to social networking. Maybe something like this exists, but if the airlines and hotels are driving it we would obviously see much quicker adoption than just through the geek world as we see it with TripIt, etc.

Anyone got some VC money or some contacts? Mr Starwood Arup Nanda are you listening?

Yes the computing power would be massive, but we could use EC2 for that and the ability to sell into local restaurants / businesses would be massive.

in Marketing 2.0 Leader Summit Recap on Oracle AppsLab
I'd go in a minute, I actually wanted to ask last week why no outsiders were being brought in for their ideas. You guys should look at doing the event before / after collaborate this year since there will be a good number of outside Oracle (customers, partners, bloggers, etc.) there already.

Honestly, is it any surprise that the collective Justin / Jake team "won".

in Click Me Please on Eddie Awad’s Blog
Thanks Eddie for the kind words, I'm hoping to start a bi-monthly show much like diggnation (except audio only) once the site really gets kicking. I'll be inviting the top bloggers / other Oracle community people to participate. Needless to say you're one of the top ones on my list.

in What Do You Really Want from a Social Network? on Oracle AppsLab
I'd post the idea, but I still need to get my domain added to that mix thing you guys keep talking about ;-)

in What Do You Really Want from a Social Network? on Oracle AppsLab
What I want is to add location to a social network (like mix) where I can find people with the same skills sets / interests as me. I'm a mobile guy consulting around the US. It would be great to go into a town and have 4-5 other Oracle people interested in IdM that I could ping for dinner or lunch to talk about war stories and best practices. Yes the whore consultants will abuse it for more work, but I'm sure we can quickly get them on an ignore list. Thats something I've talked about for years but never had the time to build a whole network around. That would be my first app I'd extend into the mix ;-).

in Reflections on OOW 2007 on DanNorris.com
Dan and I were texting back and forth during the keynote and for some reason Larry was giggling the entire time during the presentation. At some point I suggested it would be great to have a Larry laugh ringtone. For some reason we both thought it was hilarious. We're odd, we know.

I think all of the Aces should grow beards for Oracle World to commensurate the Oracle beard movement.

in More from the ASU ERP Implementation on Oracle AppsLab
At least the media is being fair about taking turns who they beat up on this stuff. The latest is the LA Schools SAP ERP implementation:

Its funny that their "notebook" application is Oracle Portal though:

Looks like someone missed their mission statement.

Yeah, I really can't wait, I'm hoping to have the RFID demo put together by then. Should be sweet, it'll be a good off the grid presentation.

As much as you want to be like me you'll never be as cool. I do give lessons if you are interested. With 3 years of careful study you may make it half way there.

You forgot the highlight of your plane trip in the exit row was being honored to sit next to me. Nice to see you finally got the theme applied to your site that you were working on the flight.

Yes, its 1:20 am in Seattle and I still haven't left yet.

in Fan emails on Eddie Awad’s Blog

I'm jealous, the emails I get from "Fans" give me discounts on medical drugs and tempt me to leave my fiance for other local women

BTW, can you ship me a copy of Oracle 25X (I figure that'll be the release name in 15 years), since you are the company :D

in The world’s largest database runs Oracle on Eddie Awad’s Blog

Its actually more of a custom file system than a database.

in The world’s largest database runs Oracle on Eddie Awad’s Blog

Google actually wrote their own database for their servers. Its an awesome cluster, I'll email you a doc I have on it. Talk about true grid computing.
