It's a process for building a novel, starting with a single sentence ("An orphaned boy learns he's a wizard") and eventually ending up with a detailed outline. It works: I'm currently editing my second novel written using the method! (No connection with the method's creator other than my everlasting appreciation. :)
I haven't yet sold a novel, but when I do I know it'll be in large part due to the depth of story that this novel method has given my books.
The "No Plot, No Problem" book is also great. There's a 'button' in there to press to send away your internal editor. I pressed it regularly until she and I became the good friends we are now. :)
