in Twitter Tracking for Affiliates on Affiliate Tip
This is definitely one of the "must use" features for Twitter. I track things like my name or company names I'm interested in and receive txt messages when they pop up in the Twitter stream.
Incredibly helpful if you're doing any kind of brand or response research using Twitter (which you should be doing!).

Actually, Google is a made up (and mis-spelled) name. The intention was "googol."

Nice linkbait, Jim :)
Get a desktop client like Twitterific for Mac or Snitter for Mac/PC or Tweetr for PC and let the flow roll.

in Exclusive First Look At SocialSpark, Formerly PayPerPost, A “Social Network” For Advertisers & Publishers on Jim Kukral
Seriously?
What a lame Izea.
If people are tired of social networking with their friends, what's to make a social network with "advertisers" that actually benefits the network and the advertisers much more than the actual bloggers appealing?
Sorry, Jim... this just looks silly.

in People LOVE Lists - You Should Make One on Jim Kukral
"You’re right Sam, but we’re talking about marketing, not so much blogging. A blog is a marketing tool in this discussion."
I don't see the need for a distinction. Two sides of the same coin.

I've got to agree with Scoble here... "Lists are Lame."
I do think this is a death-blow to Technorati, and am glad to see something to compete with that out-of-date system.
But seriously... blogging is not about making or creating lists or finding the best way to capture eyeballs. It's about writing what you're passionate about and communicating with the people who are passionate about the same thing (or converting a few others to share that passion). Of course that's my personal opinion.

in Are Affiliate Networks Ready for Mobile? on Affiliate Tip
Kerri Pollard of CJ said CJ's pixel tracking will work for mobile. I've got no reason to think that's not the truth, so this could get interesting quickly.

in ReveNews- Why Not WordPress? on Vlad Zabblotskyy - A politically Incorrect Blogger
Not really damage control... The new ReveNews is less than a week old, so its more of a plea for patience. Group blogs are never easy platforms to create or recreate, and there are bound to be bugs in the first few days. We'll get them worked out right away, though. The hard part of getting onto the new platform is done.

Hey Vlad-
i'm typing this on my mobile on the way to CJU, so excuse any typos.
basically, the decision to stick with movable type over wordpress came down to the group nature of the site. As a stand alone platform, wordpress kicks mt's butt. In a group blog setting, mt is much better for the bloggers and admin. We havent finished installing all the new plugins, but im confident that once the site is completely "finished" by the end of the month, it will have all of the functonality you reference above. See the new boingboing.net site for an example. MT 4 is very powerful, so give us some time to get RN finalized and i assure you that you'll be happy!
