Even I would like to do it in future. One suggestion: instead of downloading the MP3, it would be ideal if you could embed MP3 file to a player.

Re: Digital Nation Seminar and Others

blue chi
I wish Omantel guys land up as panelists one day to be in the FIRING line. No discussion is complete without customary digs at Omantel, even from high-ranking officials. KOM people must give more time for Q&A; sessions, as that is the most important part of these discussions.

I liked the 3rd event of 2007 the best, and couldn't make it to the last event.

Cool idea, we should all meet up.

Re: Omantel’s New Offer: Pay 99 Freaking Rials for Your Internet Connection

Thanks for the info on 'bit' and 'byte'. For all their "404/page not found errors", ministries will be more than willing to have their WWW listed in the printed book. Imagine spelling erros creeping in URLs of the printed copies...I can't wait for that book :)

Re: Painting @ Cafe Ceramique

Heard about it. I have come across Omanis who just barge into the queue mid-way, without blinking an eyelid. And, there are a lot of decent types too. So it a mixed bag.

anonoman

At least in Bangalore, the IT city of India, white people don't preferential treatment. Almost 80% of whites have Indians as bosses in IT companies over there. “White fixation” is rampant in GCC.

Re: They want ot tell us what to wear

What is Ministry of Culture doing? Working on measures to counter inflation?

I think Omani dishdashas are the best in GCC, so elegant. Do you think Oman has the internet reach in terms of numbers to have an ambitious project like ePayment Gateway? There seems to be an overzealous ambition to enter mainstream without getting the basics right. TRA must do something soon to cut rates and allow internet growth in Oman. Rest will follow, taking the natural progression curve.

Re: Bank Muscat Will Give Me My Money Back

Fantastic news. I hope you get your money back in 72 hours as promised. Customer service linked to emails/blogs are super efficient in comparison to the old school way of telephone queries and walk-in complaints in Oman. I guess businesses are scared of getting their reputation tarnished in the online world.

Re: Speaking Tomorrow at Digital Nation Seminar

That's cool. I like to try various cuisines, and I’ve been doing it from Bangalore, which offers almost all the world cuisines under its belt. The problem lies with the people from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh who are quite choosy about the food they eat and are traditional too. Finally, they end up in Indian hotels, eating the same old fare. Most of them, being veggies, have very less option in Golden Oryxs or an Istanbulis, so are forced to settle in MM or Woodlands or Saravana Bhavans. Another major attraction for having Indian stuff is the chance to booze at nominal rates. Imagine ordering liquor at Hyatt or InterCon and getting ripped off!

blue chi

Woodlands has indeed opened a branch in Sohar. Try those delectable kebabs!
