in Search Engine Optimization Tips: Meta Tags on Writing White Papers
Kirk, you are right, all bloggers should optimize their title and description meta tags before posting an article.

Halifax, that is a great idea indeed. The meta description tag can be used to increase Click-Thrus on your listings by including benefits right into them.

in Search Engine Optimization Tips And Tricks on Writing White Papers
Hey guys,

thanks for your comments.

I found out recently about seodigger.com and love it. Instead of SeoQuake, I use SEO For Firefox, created by Aaron Wall. They are both excellent extensions.

I never heard of Nemeas before. Thanks for pointing that out!

in Pros & Cons of Pay-Per-Click Advertising on Writing White Papers
Louise,

I heard good things about Glyphius, but never actually used it. I have a swipe file of headlines that I put together out of the copywriting books and sales letters I read. I also use an inexpensive software called Headline Creator Pro, which I find very handy (it has far less features than Glyphius, though).

Dom,

Adwords is indeed a great tool to test a market, because you can turn the traffic on and off as you wish. It is wise to test the waters before diving in a new market and PPC is the way to do it. You pointed out a great advantage of Google Adwords that I missed. Thanks!

in Should You Consider Search Engine Optimization? on Writing White Papers
Hey Dean,

for older sites (such as yours), it is usually enough to do some on-site optimization (meta tags, h1 tags, etc.) to see the rankings improve.

This is because Google tends to like older domains.

On-site optimization and link building are definitely two important activities for every web site owner. The results you can get in the long term are worth the effort.

Hey Michael,

since I suspect that many of your readers are using Pay-Per-Click traffic to give visibility to their white papers, they may be interested in strategies to lower their PPC costs and increase the conversion rate of their landing pages.

If you need this kind of content, I am more than willing to help you out.

in The Paperless Book - A Guide To eBooks And Audiobooks on The Beta News
Hey Dennis,

very nice article.

I am now using a Creative Zen Nano Plus to listen to teleseminar recordings on the go. I am considering the purchase of a portable video player (ex. the iPod Nano) to consume webinar recordings too, which are more and more common nowadays.

And I want my next computer to be a tablet, just waiting for their prices to drop a little.
