Is the book in the Fiction section? Maybe it will be in the clearance bin with Bill-O.

Oh yes--he was called on that by the other female commentator, but not by Dan Abrams. I think Dan just lets him hang out there in the breeze...on purpose.

in Geraldine Ferraro and the Clinton Campaign’s Strategy on Jack and Jill Politics
Love, love, LOVE this blog. I must report that as of right now, 8:55 p.m. EST: Keith Olberman is editorializing and SLAMMING the Clinton campaign on MSNBC, wagging his finger at the candidate, laying out example after horrible documented example (with video!!) about what they are doing. His voice is cracking. He is calling it "cheap, ignorant, vile racism". He said "Senator. Clinton, this is not a campaign strategy...*do you not SEE, Senator??". "You are still awash in this FILTH...you must reject and denounce Geraldine Ferraro". He is killin' it. I can not wait until this video is posted.

I also felt "guilty for things I haven’t even done, said or thought about. "

Plus, while watching, I kept casting a suspicious eye at my husband on completely unfounded grounds.

In a word, paranoia.

I will not be tuning in for round two!

in Reality check on The Pop Diner

I, too, am a reality TV junkie. Unashamedly so until...mmm...about now.

One thing I found surprising about the roll-out of American Idol was the judges' reaction to Kady Malloy, the Britney Spears impersonator from Dallas.

After she dumped the schtick and, in the words of Hillary Clinton, "found her own voice," singing "Unchained Melody," (a Simon fave, by the way) the judges loved her even more.

I don't really get it. Kady's definitely good, but I didn't think her performance warranted the blown-away reaction from Randy, Paula and Si-Guy. I agree: Zia or Pzia is one to watch.

I've fallen off the "Amazing Race" bandwagon, but do remember the grandson/grandpapa pair. I'll root for them because I thought they had a snowball's chance in Greenland to make it this far.

Besides getting caught up in VH1's post-holiday "America's Next Top Model" marathon (they're evil! I was glued to the tube all week) I haven't latched on to anything new...except, I did just see previews for a new "Flava of Love."

Now, who's with me for that new season, boyyyy-eeeeee?

I don't think most of the problem is with 'wanting him to'. It is the claims (in order to get some sort of convert notch on the gun belt, I suppose) that he already has.

As for HarperOne, they had nothing to lose. He didn't write the book anyway. Heck, by his own admission, he doesn't know all that is in it. Their concern would mostly be with the one who ghostwrote the thing.

in Thompson Woos Conservatives, but Huckabee, Romney Remain Favorites on The Iowa Independent
Have you checked out Huckabee? For all the reasons that you support Fred Thompson, I think you may be pleasantly surprised by Governor Huckabee.  Have you checked him out?  He is an authentic conservative with 10 1/2 years of executive experience, as the governor of Arkansas, that bears it out.  If you are looking for "a little of the good old days of faith and family", know that Mike Huckabee's campaign slogan is "Faith. Family. Freedom." And this guy's not just talk!  As a former minister, he has a heart for people and families and he is real.  He shares our values.  As for bringing America back together, Huckabee speaks to left-leaning groups as well as the right.  He does not change who he is as he talks to different people, and many respect his integrity.  I'm reading comments on the web from Democrats who respect him, who will vote for him if their preferred democratic candidate does not make it, or who all-out support him as their first choice.  If you haven't checked him out, start at www.mikehuckabee.com. I like Mike!

in More reasons to take action on FOX Attacks!
Wow! It's cool to see that so many different, often conflicting, viewpoints are posted here. Some people support, some people oppose. Would the people who say this site is trying to take away the freedom of speech please notice this? Brave New Films does not have to post your comments which say how much crap you think they produce, but they do. Isn't this kind of a direct contradiction to what you're saying about them?

I also notice LOTS of name calling and mudslinging. Because that always solves problems...

Personally, I do not follow a particular party. The people I choose to represent me politically are picked by their indiviual ideaology, goals, standards, and past achievements and affiliations, and how they fit me. This means a lot of background research. I don't think anyone should get information from one source- how easily is that taintable? Even if it's a very "credible" source. There was a comment a while back compairing several "liberal" news organizations to control by Hitler, Stalin, etc. But this was made a person who only watches Fox. Does this person also scour the web to find information (NOT personal blogs, but actual accounts and reports) confirming what Fox states in its reports? Or rather, very similar to a dictatorship, is ALL information coming from the "one and only" source? It just doesn't make sense how you could be so blind!

To add to that, Fox News has *ADMITTED* to broadcasting lies! This is not some third party group such as Brave New Films coming along and telling you that Fox News lied; it is straight from Fox themselves that they **lied**. They lied. Period. There is an official statement from them telling *the world* that even though they present themselves as a credible news organization, they lied. Even if only one, it took a lawsuit to get the truth out. Remember when Connie Chung broke the rules of good journalism? She was blacklisted and her credibility was destroyed. Why not Fox?

People often want to be handfed information rather than seek it out for themselves. Whether or not you watch Fox, do some research. Find out for yourself. Check out sources from *all sides* of the story. If you still agree with Fox, fine, but at least you are educated and can intelligently say *why* you support them. This will earn you a bit more clout than just saying "those gdamn liberals are trying to take away my rights!" with nothing to back it up. Americans *need* to be informed!!

To me Fox has no more credibility than those ridiculous yellow journalist papers at the check out stand. And their journalism is as believable as the amazing birth of the half alligator baby to a woman in Louisiana. (If you have a half alligator child, I'd love to talk!)

To all the Ginas: if you have such disdain for this site, why do you return to say the same thing over and over again?

in Jeff Carr: Two Different Histories on God's Politics
I know this is not related to your original post, but if you are interested in biblical studies or in Christianity in general you have to check out Jesus Family Tomb. This totally amazing movie is coming out talking about Jesus as a husband AND a father!! Unbelievable. But what I like about the movie is that they use only experts to verify the studies. They actually have DNA and statistical proof that 1) Jesus existed, and 2) had a son. It's truly the discovery of the millenium. Check it out at: http://www.jesusfamilytomb.com
