What kind of dope are you? IRS has been telling people for years to do their returns on line. Others included overflowing toilets, cramped campgrounds, and, my personal peeve, the fact that you had to stay in a fenced off area to drink alcohol you paid for. So, if you weren't in the VIP area, you couldn't sit back with a beer and watch your favorite artist. How dumb is that?

That being said, the music was fantastis. I did not see a band that played poorly. Some of my added favorites that were not mentioned in the above article:

- Sam Roberts opened the main stage Saturday with a energetic set that really got me, my friends, and the rest of the group pumped!
- Low vs Diamond, pay attention to these up and comers
- Solid (but far too short) Set by My Morning Jacket. Unfortunately a lot of the crowd was unaware of MMJ's live show, hopefully this will wake them up to it.
- So Impressed by Buck 65. If you haven't heard of him, check him out. A canadian hip hop/spoken word artist with such amazing presence. He played solo on the second stage with only a turntable and a mic, and completely got the crowd into it.
- I am not a hip hop fan, but I loved the Jay-Z set.
- also check out Airborne Toxic Event, they played a tight, solid set.

Lastly, I sure wish we could have gotten into the DJ Tent, pissed me off that you would pay $250 and not be able to see all the acts you wanted to. I may just end up at Sasquatch next year instead of going back to Pemberton, even though it was a blast for anyone that could handle all the logistical blunders.

Re: http://consequenceofsound.net/2008/08/29/interview-torquil-campbell-of-stars/

great interview, great questions, great answers.

I saw Torquil play in a side project called Memphis at a tiny little place in Vancouver last year...he seems like a true artist in that his demeanor was all self-indulgent (in a good way), and it didn't matter that he was playing in front of about 50 people, he was completely into his own music.

Re: Delete Solaris files older than a certain date and time | Solaris system administration | Tech-Recipes

In Solaris you can use find -mtime +nn where nn is the days of age, to find files older than a certain number of days.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Two More Clients On The Banner!

Glad to be on board. I wish I could say the same for the review, which was less of a review and more of a chance for the author to bash Microsoft. Four of the eleven paragraphs are about the PS3, the rest are purely used to bash Microsoft in any way possible. (A nice example is trying to find WMV's on Microsoft's webpage. I agree completly, Microsoft's webpage is designed horribly, and navigating it is in no way simple or intuitive. But that has nothing to do with console interfaces, or the PS3, at all.) And, for the record, alot of people (myself included) find the Xbox 360's menu's quite easy to navigate. Of course, there could be improvements, but it's mostly easy to use. As an example, in your article you said you accidently go through blades when trying to select something on the the right part of the screen. I'm not sure where in the interface you are, but at the screens with blades, there are no options on the right hand side to select. I thought you may be talking about a menu inside a blade, but once you enter one of these menues you can't change blades. I don't mean to nit-pick, but it seems as though you made up this scenario to support your side of the argument (which, shouldn't have been an argument at all, just a simple review of PS3's menu). And, to ACiB, I like how all you have to in PS3 is press left or right (which is simple), but in Xbox 360 you have to change blades (which, I assume, is more difficult). In reality, changing blades in Xbox 360 only requires the same press of left or right that makes PS3's interface so much more easier to use.

Re: http://www.aeropause.com/2006/09/more-ps3-rumors/

But the reason it is stupid is because PS3 games are going to be released on Blu-Ray. At the moment, Blu-Ray (writing) drives are prohibitively expensive, so I cant imagine there being widespread game copying anytime soon. That is also ignoring all of the copy protections that will be inherent in both the software and the disc/writer hardware to prevent against these actions. The security will be almost to the point that reselling is extremely viable. Anyways, what do you do with rentals if this was the case?

Re: Serra da Cangalha

wow,the second photo and the 4th are so gorgeous, they don't seem real, but I know they are.
Brad

Re: Rubim-MG

gorgeous photos,Kawan.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Brad

Re: http://www.fairyblogmotherblog.com/2009/10/got-free-ecards-15-amazoncom-giveaway.html

I like the Dancing Skeletons.

bwedwards at gmail dot com

Re: A toca da onça

more of your gorgeous photography. I also do not know why does one think it is mandatory to tell your spouse about your past. It is the past; you jumped, you fell, you got up and walked on; what's the compulsion to tell your spouse everything. It's your past, and you have a right to privacy.

Of course, if one does feel the need to 'tell', then one should. One should also decide how to put it, depending on your spouse's ability to accept/handle the info. Since this facet of your spouse in an arranged marriage, is not easily discernible, most people have their doubts of divulging information. Hence the concept of dating, where you do the talking and stuff, if at all deemed necessary.

Re: Honesty, the males-only policy

You fellas should meet Teddy (her nickname), my ex-girlfriend.

In the beginning, Teddy blabbers all about her ex-bf in bits and pieces, squirting unwanted information, she thinks she is sharing her past, I wasn't asking, but after some initial teasers, I was forced to ask some questions, to which I got answers that I was better off without. Seriously. Yes, he did try to give you that feeling, but that's only because he thought that if he didn't give you that feeling, then you would, in turn think, that he didn't feel possessive of you, and consequently didn't love you. He did it for you, woman. He did it for you.

2- He just loves you very much. He and you both decided to have 2.5 kids together. You did give him the hopes, and he took them without a word. You probably would not take him back again. But if he doesn't try, he didn't wanna move on with the thought, 'Heck, I should have tried.'

3- He just wants you to know that he cares. He might come across as 'nosy', but he only is looking after your well-being. If you are having some sex life, he's just playing jealous for your satisfaction. And if you are not having any, then he just wants to let you know that you have an option.

4- Luckily, on a collective basis, all your ex-bfs didn't have English as their first language at home, so in their respective tongues, ex-gf always sleeps with them come what may. I am trying to convince them it is a myth. I'll progress to not there in their dictionary as well at a later stage.

5- Yeah, that one guy went overboard. I tried telling him it's of no use. But he just wouldn't listen. He said, mebbe that act would convince her to take me back. You know, how he keeps saying, 'I don't wanna move on, thinkin' I should've tried.' What could I say to that!?

6- Oh yeah, that was silly. He thought he could make you jealous. I told him that it wouldn't work, but he just wouldn't listen. Same 'try no move on' bullcrap again. I raised my hands.

7- Hee hee...I am sorry, but one of those top hat guys with fake moustaches was me. I'll stay away, I promise.

8- Hey, we don't have a restraining order from you as yet. So, until then, he can do what he likes/wants. You are of course free to be as nasty or nice as you want.

9- Aaaah. He just keeps thinking that he'll say nice things to you, even lies, and you'll get back to him. I have tried convincing him otherwise.

10- I am working on this with him. I have reached the 'E' in 'the', but he's learning.

~Attorney for your ex-boyfriends.

Re: Mr.Ideasmith

Well, I might have not picked the tag, but it did give me some morsel to chew on, and bang out a post!

Re: How I celebrated Women’s day

Just the existence of 'Woman's day' symbolizes a sexist attitude and is extremely illogical, and people who support/celebrate it also portray a vein of similar thoughts! However, the tools are around us.

1) Shelve books wherever you feel like at the time. Reshelve later in different places. This is the only system that actually works for most people.

2) With nice light, every so often quickly photograph the shelves with a nice digital camera.

3) This is the hard part. You need a "book spine aware" OCR/recognition program. First, it would be a program that attacks the specific problem of book spines. Spotting the border between spines. Converting the random sets of background and foreground colours to simple contrast for the OCR algorithms. Isolating and identifying the varying type sizes and orientations of spines. Knowing it only has to search in a limited database of known book titles and known authors and known publishers. Publisher Imprint logo recognition helping it a great deal.

However, it can also just recognize the spine by creating a fingerprint of the image, and comparing it to a public database of other people who have photographed the same book. (For libraries you would have to know to remove library catalog tags or just OCR them.) Like cddb, for books.

4) Now you can create "virtual bookshelves" on the computer, with real images of the real book spines, for browsing. You can browse by author, by LoC, by DDC, whatever you like. Then it tells you "That book is #20 on shelf #15"

This is what I really want, it's what we all really want, I think. The OCR system is hard, but all the basic tools already exist, little new research here, just software eng. I think libraries and used bookstores would pay well for it too, so go write it!

Re: Miva Serves Up In-line Text Ads

I find those ads quite annoying. I went to all the lectures, did the required HW questions and probably only 30% of the supplemental questions. I also reviewed each chapter the week before the exam and made use of the final exams and simulated exams in the Becker software. I passed with an 87, so I personally think Becker covered the BEC material pretty well. There were maybe 2-3 questions on the exam that came as a total surprise to me.

Just make sure you stick to your own plan. Everyone has a different way of learning and only you really know your strengths and weaknesses. Don't worry about the details of what everyone else is doing. Tailor your study plan around how you learn ~ and try not to freak out on exam day ~ and you'll do fine.

Re: CPA Exam Rants: April/May 2009 Window

I agree about the Becker FAR questions... very difficult. I had a very difficult time with the two final exams included with the software, to the point where I was almost distraught after so many hours studying. Just wanted to point out that we actually don't make Flash slideshows at all; that's what guys like Slide and RockYou do. We create fully rendered videos, using (and here I can see the confusion) a Flash video player to display the result. I know it might seem a bit nit-picky, but in reality the world of rendered videos is a whole new space that affords richer motion graphic designs of far higher production value. I hope that is evident in the Animoto videos you watch or create.

Best,

Brad (one of the Animoto guys)

Re: New Contest Gives You a Chance to Win a Free Spot in Our Freelance Copywriting Coaching Program

I got interested in dm copy back in the early 60 and 70's. When I was a manager of a jewelry store back in the late 60's. The most successful ad we ever ran was selling and indian penny pendant surrounded by faux diamonds. The headline read: " Buy A Penny For $10".That one small ad got 40 people inthe door with cash in hand. Then i used to subscribe to a retail ad newsletter by Hubert Simon in NY, and I used to talk to him on the phone all the time. He wrote the second most famous ad in dm history:" How To Get Out Of The Rat Race And Into The Chips". The first was Joe Carbo's, " The Lazy Man's Way To Riches". I moved on to another job in the 70's for a music distributor. My job was to write ads and run them for the mail order division. There was no internet, and not many books available on the subject except for John Caples and Claude Hopkins. So I had to wing it. Then I moved onto another retail company where I wrote ads and subscribed to Halbert's newsletter when he lived in LA. I used to talk to him on the phone for pointers too. It was a thrill to write an ad and watch the people come to the store in droves. I moved away for a few years, and got away from it all. Now, it's a lot easier to learn how to write copy since there's a ton of info on the internet and a lot of the hard to get ads and books have been reprinted. I would still like to learn from people who has already done it since you can only learn so much from reading books. Learning from a pro cuts your learning curve done to ziltch. Just look what happen to all the guys Halbert personally taught. They're all copy superstars. Like I said, nothing is more exciting then writing a winner or beating a control. To sum things up, it's like the headline for an ad that sold a money making mail order opportunity. In his ad, the copywriter feigned going to his PO Box to see if he got any mail orders: "When I peeped through the glass and saw the stacks of mail, I almost dropped the key"!

Re: The Non-Judgmental Frame

Hey man, really love your blog. As far as food consumption, we are a nation of pigs, just look around you. Are there too many people in India? Of course. There are too many people in every country on the planet. The difference is we Americans use about 100 times the natural resources as someone if a developing country, and since there is no country on the planet with 100 times our population... We're in yet another war so we can continue to be gluttons and drive gas guzzlers. What is it about Americans that makes us think we're so damn special? There are 66 books in the bible and none of them contradict each other. That takes allot of planning and allot of mental power. The atheist argument here is saying that since there is no God how could God write the bible? You are backing your answer on the assumption of the non-exsistance of God. All either of us is wanting is for the truth to come out. When you start trying to reconcile some of the acts of God and man's morality, I'm sorry, it's creates self-rightous bigots who think they know God. What part of your maggot-minded brain thinks you can claim to know absolute truth? The best we have is born from great thinkers and literature, not the Bible for heavens sake, the farthest thing from a bastion of morality. Morality is not Christianity, or if it is, Socrates is our saviour. Nothing is absolute. We simply try to do our best at living a good life without causing harm to others. We all make mistakes and learn from them.

Re: http://thehappyhospitalist.blogspot.com/2009/07/could-iphone-revolutionize-hearing-aid.html

WHAT????! With the backdrop of Blago's face behind him on a City Club banner Vallas easily differentiated himself simply by staying on point. 'Where have you been?'

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards
through the clouds, 'Look, Michael. Look what I've created.'

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, 'What is it?'
'It's a planet,' replied God, 'and I've put Life on it.

I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance.'
'Balance?' Inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of earth.
'For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and
wealth but cold and harsh while southern Europe is going to be
poor but sunny and pleasant . 'I have made some lands abundant in
water and other lands parched deserts. 'This one will be extremely
hot and while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.'

The Archangel , impressed by God's work, then pointed to a land mass and
said, 'What's that one?'

'Ah,' said God. 'That's Illinois the most glorious place on earth.
There will be beautiful prairies, grasslands, farms, streams, abundant
wild game and birds, rolling hills and woodlands. The people from
Illinois are going to be handsome, modest, intelligent and humorous and
they are going to be found traveling the world. They will be
extremely sociable, hardworking and high achieving, and they will be
known throughout the world as diplomats and ambassadors of peace.'
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, 'What about
balance, God? You said there would be balance!!!'

God replied wisely,

'Wait until you see the idiots I put in Springfield , Cook County and City Hall.'

Re: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2008/11/bored-of-blogging.html

I'm not sure you care, but for what it's worth I think your tech related posts were generally good. It would make no sense to use it in Android, which would suffer from the overhead of multiple processes for each tab, etc. But they both use the same rendering engine, that being Webkit. The Android team's success with Webkit was what made the Chrome team decide to go with it as their rendering engine.

Also, seeing your header image today made me really want to redo it. The common answer is to add another wildcard team and another playoff series. The wildcard's play each other first then the winner plays one of the 3 division winners (best record I suppose). This way the wildcard has a tougher road to the WS and in turn it would place a premium on winning the division.

Baseball would love the idea because it increases revenue. For me the simple answer is no wild card at all. Go back to East and West divisions and just play the LCS and WS. The whole point of this system was if you won your division you were good enough to compete for the WS already. The entire purpose of the wildcard is ratings and revenue. It has no real baseball value. In the end it cheapens the regular season.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/09/shaughnessy-making-excuses-for-sox.html

This article proves that the Wildcard needs to be changed or tweaked.

I hate to agree with anything Michael Kay has to say but in this case he's right. The Sox didn't play well enough to win their own division but they played well enough to outlast other teams in other divisions. As a result these games in late September don't mean anything and their is no penalty for the team that didn't play well enough to win their own division.

The Red Sox are can't compete in the strong AL East so they take advantage of lesser teams in lesser divisions like the central for example. The bottom line is the current structure allows a team like the Sox to bypass tough in division competition and take their chances in a short series.

They have turned baseball into the NHL and the second season strategy. Thish is why it isn't always the best team that wins but rather the hottest team.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/09/schilling-has-nothing-but-respect-for.html

Nice comments from Schilling.......but I still hate the guy with a passion. There is still a long way to go but it's theirs to lose. I'm not to worried about the 5th starter. All they have to do is mix and match until October after that the 5th guy is meaningless.

I love the top 3 guy's in the rotation and we're getting above average out of Andy to boot. As far as the inside pitch goes it's about time! It is one of the most important parts of the game. To be dominant you have to own the inside half of the plate. Good teams and more money will always attract top shelf talent.

As far as Olney goes who cares what he thinks. He is part of that ESPN mafia. They protect the Red Sox at all costs and they attack the Yankees when ever they can. As long as the Yanks stay in front and play well you'll see a steady stream of this kind of shit from Olney, Nyer and company.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/05/boomer-ban-ped-users-for-life.html

The issue is economics and always has been. If you want to stop any negative behavior you have to attack the root causes not the symptoms. MLB openly promoted the behavior (see 1998) and owners openly rewarded the behavior (think A-Rods Texas contract). Until that changes you will never "clean" the game up.

As long as avg, and slugging % and OPS are used to determine a given players worth, you will have cheaters. No amount of punitive action will deter cheaters and that is scientific fact. People cheat to reap rewards. Remove the rewards and you change the behavior.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/05/stats-say-rod-wasnt-tipping.html

Not only this but why would A-Rod work with opposing players to improve his personal stats AFTER he signed the richest deal in MLB history? Seems like that sort of thing would get out right away. From what I've seen so far Selena Roberts has written a book with loads of "unnamed sources, speculation, and innuendo". To me it appears that the only real information she has is the original 2003 test result. From there she seems to have built herself a nice little franchise.

I don't like A-Rod and I'm upfront about that but to me Selena Roberts represents everything that's wrong with this country. She is making a killing by riding the coattails of someone who worked hard to get to where he is. Like I said, I don't like A-Rod but I respect what he has done, steroids aside. What has Roberts done?

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/04/bruney-to-cutdown-workload-to-avoid.html

"He's not a perfectionist, he's a moron"

Wow that's a little strong. It seems so much nicer and more enjoyable since he's not around. To Greg's point I don't think we would be any different than we are now. The loss' have come from bad pitching. The offense has been very solid so far. Nobody wants to see a full year of Cody Ransom but all things being equal it could be a lot worse. I love not having A-Rod around! That way they can get him down to Tampa to get a better look.

Putting his recent problems aside I think there are bigger issues with Wang. His last 6 starts before he got hurt last year were not good and it was the same trend we are seeing here. The pitches have been elevated with little or no movement. To me it looks like opposing hitters and hitting coaches have figured out Wang. They avoid chasing that hard sinker which forces him into secondary pitches. Wang has never had an "out" pitch. When you have 19 wins and only 75 K's it's only a matter of time before that comes back to bite you.

I believe the Yankees were aware of this possibility and this is why they took a careful approach to his contract status, choosing arb over locking him up long term.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/04/video-of-swisher-on-mound.html

Yeah I don't think Jorge was pissed at Swisher he was pissed about the game. I don't know why A-Rod needs Guy Oseary anyway. It's well documented that A-Rod has very little "brand" value. Consumers didn't react well to him before most of this stuff hit the press. He's got tons of money and really doesn't need endorsement deals anyway.

He is a classic tragedy. He want's to be loved more then anything else but the harder he tries the worse he makes it for himself. The Yanks are right on point with this. The problem with "gritty & intangibles" isn't with the skill of the players in question but with the people who track stats. I know these words drive Saber metric type people nuts because "intangibles" don't fit neatly into an .xls spreadsheet, therefore it isn't real. That's a load of bull. Throughout the history of the game, which by the way has been around a lot longer than Money Ball, there are long list's of great players who possessed the “intangibles” necessary to help their teams win big games. Conversely there have been many statistical wonders in the game that have produced nothing but great personal statistics (see A-Rod).

I have heard this argument a thousand times and no matter how many times the argument is made the end is the same. Guy’s like Jeter and Pedroia will continue to prove Saber metrics wrong. I mean your arguing over whether Jeter is really HOF worthy but if you know the Yankee’s well you would understand that some of those intangible’s that Jeter brought the game have had a direct impact on the team winning 4 WS in 6 years. He didn’t do it alone he had help from guy’s like Brosius who is a lifetime .257 hitter with little power. Having said that it is hard to imagine how the things would have looked in ’98 had he not hit .471 in the WS or .375 in the ’99 WS or .371 in the ‘2000 WS.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/03/rod-wants-other-103-to-remain-anonymous.html

You know this is one of the best A-Rod interviews I've read. Jeter will retire a Yankee and they will pay him to the end and they should. The whole idea of "letting Jeter walk" is absurd and it makes me wonder how closely some people follow the Yankees. If you don't understand how much he means to this organization by now then get your head out of the sand. Jeter means way more then just defensive or offensive stats. He is the Yankee's and he is the face of the organization and he is all these things for the right reasons. Not because he posed for some photo shoot that showed him kissing himself in a mirror or because he was trying to explain how he didn't really know what PED he was taking. Not because his cousin was sticking needles in his ass. He is the face of the Yankees because he represents everything that is right with sports and role models.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/03/al-leiter-plays-beer-pong.html

Greg,

Well said me too!

What I want to know is whether he won or not.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/03/fans-have-spoken-they-believe-rod-and.html

Greg,

I hear you on the 103 but I'm sure that even if we knew those names it won't be close to the final accounting of the steroid era. I don't believe anything A-Rod says. If he plays well, and makes the kind of impact he should, then what we think doesn't matter either way and it won't matter.

As far as the other 103 names goes I say keep them sealed. First of all they were supposed to be anonymous. The only reason A-Rods became public is because someone leaked the information and violated both his privacy and the law. Two wrongs will not make this right. It would be no different then someone in your doctors office releasing private medical information about you to your employer for instance. In this case the public does not have a right to know. Also since retroactive punishments don't apply what is there to be gained?

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/03/classic-upset.html

I agree not a huge fan but I'm desperate for some baseball so I'm watching. I don't see this ever stopping. Just imagine if Boston had pulled off that trade in '04. We would be having a blast with it.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/02/giambi-ill-thank-derek-until-day-i-die.html

I think the issue is that the two situations weren't the same and neither are the people involved. Giambi wasn't the face of baseball and he wasn't expected to break anyone's record's. Giambi didn't go on TV with Catie Curic and declare his innocents, A-Rod did.

A-Rod is very phony and unlikeable, can't say I blame Jeter.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/02/who-knew-he-was-so-well-liked.html

Raven you beat me to the punch. This will last about as long as his next bad at bat. When you get right down to it this whole issue is secondary for me. The main problem with A-Rod is whether or not he is a winner and so far that hasn't been the case.

I think Alex is just one of those guy's who put's up huge numbers that do not translate into big wins for his team (at least the wins that mean the most).

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/02/maybe-he-shouldnt-have-apologized.html

Amen to Peter F. All I care about is the team playing baseball and all I ever hear about is A-Rod this and A-Rod that. We have 9 more years of this crap to put up with. I am so sick and tired of the whole thing. I don't care what he does in his private life until it effects the team and like it or not it does.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-should-jeter-do.html

First and foremost to set the record straight Jeter has 4 rings and Eli has 1. Secondly we haven't read the book in it's intended context so we really don't know enough to draw conclusions.

Greg why should Jeter defend A-Rod? He refused to do so in 2006 and A-Rod had a monster year in '07. If Jeter supports A-Rod here it just feeds into the same thing that Torre was talking about. It's A-Rod all the time, it's A-Rod needing other people to offer him accolades and to make apologies for his shortcomings.

I love A-Rods game you have to respect that but given all the baggage that comes with him I tend to see Torre's side in all this. I do believe in the long run that A-Rod is a bad fit for this team, talent aside. From what I have read so far I agree with most of what Torre is saying. The makeup of the team has been questionable since 2002 and it has shown when it counts. No fire, no drive.....that's not Jeter so why should he support it.

I like Andy but Andy is an apologist and always has been. He stood by Clemens for a long time but when you read what Cone had to say about MacNamee it was obvious that Andy and everyone else knew what was going on. I wish Jeter was more of a vocal leader and maybe the only knock on his resume is him being captain. Having said that though this is an issue that he doesn't need to take a stand on.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2009/01/what-should-jeter-do.html

You know Jeter has always stuck to his guns when it comes to public opinion and I don't see that changing here either. I mean really who is he supposed to defend? The only current Yankee really being attacked is A-Rod and Jeter has been down this road before. He isn't going to "get behind" A-Rod publicly no matter what people say. I don't think he should. By A-Rod's own admission he is more or less his own worst enemy. Everyone else that was attacked is no longer a Yankee.

Why should/would Jeter defend Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano, Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi and so on. How does that help the Yankees now? Players are professionals and these players are some of the most expensive players in the game. It comes with the territory. This whole should reflect badly on Torre and not Jeter.

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2008/09/sickels-analysis-of-brett-gardner.html

I just can't see as an everyday guy and I'm not sold on the 4th OF option either. I would very surprised if he hit anywhere near .285. I think we're looking at .240+. From the first time I saw him I see a career pinch hitter and late inning defensive replacement. Godd all around guy to have but if something better is available......

Re: http://slidingintohome.blogspot.com/2008/02/derek-jeter-makes-fans-stupid.html

The fans are the fans. That's what makes sports work. Blind loyalty. However on the other hand if Bill James really was right then teams like the Oakland A's would be champs and guy's like Jeter might be coaching High School softball or something. I think the problem is that when you take any one element of a players game, and you separate that stat from the whole, you get skewed results. That's why when the Jeter bashers of the world attack him they always pick one part of his game and isolate it. There is no more complete player in the bigs then A-Rod. On the other hand Jeter has 4 rings and A-Rod has none. You would think that if A-Rods game was so much more superior to Jeter's he would have one at least one championship by now. Of course we know that isn't the case so you have to take a lot more into consideration then one statistical category when deciding that any player is the "best" or the "worst" at his position.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Apple's Brand New iPod Nano 16GB!

this site has the best giveaways for sure! i've entered.

Re: GIVEAWAY: Apple's Brand New iPhone 3GS!

keeping fingers crossed on this one. never seem to win anything. but i'm hoping THIS will be the one that i FINALLY win. gotta win one sometime right?

Re: GIVEAWAY: Apple's Brand New iPhone 3GS!

definitely in it to win it! want an iphone sooooo badly!! sick of verizon and blackberry. desperately wanting to switch!

Re: Test Your Reaction Time!

it's not loading for me, do i need a plugin or something?

Re: http://mikalatos.blogspot.com/2007/11/more-monkey-island-slogans.html

Welcome to fantasy monkey island - where all your uncles are monkey and all the monkeys are rich!
Come Tattoo!\OK Bossth.

Re: http://mikalatos.blogspot.com/2007/06/quarantined.html

Matt

You are one sic dude!
Could I tell some great puke in the classroom stories....
Gag.
May the Puke Fairy never quaff your way again.

bg

Re: http://figandsage.blogspot.com/2008/07/wee-generation-diaper-bag-seventh.html

Hello there!! I would totally have to agree with Kathleen that the Soda Pop Silver Weed Bag is GREAT. I know it is pricey, but if I had the money, I would get it in a heartbeat. And actually, I really like them all.
My big pet peeve is when I see someone else's diaper bag that looks so dirty and of course when it is vinyl. I usually always feel for that baby because that baby has no choice what the mother decides. Just a dirty diaper bags seems very disturbing to me.
Well, here is my e-mail and I am praying for a win over <a href="mailto:here=)
julie3atkinson@gmail.com">here=)
julie3atkinson@gmail.com and I am a blogger.

Thank SO much!!!!!!!

Re: http://www.ilanbresler.com/2009/01/and-shirt.html

Thanks for you passion ilan.
