I agree about the Becker FAR questions... very difficult. I had a very difficult time with the two final exams included with the software, to the point where I was almost distraught after so many hours studying. But I ended up passing comfortably ~ the real test was much easier than the Becker tests and questions (in my opinion).

I used Becker exclusively for BEC. I went to all the lectures, did the required HW questions and probably only 30% of the supplemental questions. I also reviewed each chapter the week before the exam and made use of the final exams and simulated exams in the Becker software. I passed with an 87, so I personally think Becker covered the BEC material pretty well. There were maybe 2-3 questions on the exam that came as a total surprise to me.
Just make sure you stick to your own plan. Everyone has a different way of learning and only you really know your strengths and weaknesses. Don't worry about the details of what everyone else is doing. Tailor your study plan around how you learn ~ and try not to freak out on exam day ~ and you'll do fine.

@Patrick - When your friends tell you that you don't need to study because you know it and you're a smart guy, just take it as a compliment. Say thanks but you have to stick with your study plan.
No need to assume your friends are out to get you as others might have suggested. They don't understand what you're going through, and it's not due to any fault of theirs. They just don't know.
Good job passing REG, and good luck on the others!

What beautiful and unusual animals in Rubim.
I've never seen anything like the last animal with the spots and broad jaws.
Great post :)

"Brad, I didn't hear anyone at the Democratic convention say anything negative about small-town mayors."
Obviously, since Palin wasn't the VP pick at that time.

I agree with what Jim has said here but I think it would be nice if he would also say something about the people who have said similar things about small town mayors.

great interview, great questions, great answers.
I saw Torquil play in a side project called Memphis at a tiny little place in Vancouver last year...he seems like a true artist in that his demeanor was all self-indulgent (in a good way), and it didn't matter that he was playing in front of about 50 people, he was completely into his own music.

Nice Article Blaine,
Just to add to the festival notes; traffic and dust were not the only logistical nightmares. Others included overflowing toilets, cramped campgrounds, and, my personal peeve, the fact that you had to stay in a fenced off area to drink alcohol you paid for. So, if you weren't in the VIP area, you couldn't sit back with a beer and watch your favorite artist. How dumb is that?
That being said, the music was fantastis. I did not see a band that played poorly. Some of my added favorites that were not mentioned in the above article:
- Sam Roberts opened the main stage Saturday with a energetic set that really got me, my friends, and the rest of the group pumped!
- Low vs Diamond, pay attention to these up and comers
- Solid (but far too short) Set by My Morning Jacket. Unfortunately a lot of the crowd was unaware of MMJ's live show, hopefully this will wake them up to it.
- So Impressed by Buck 65. If you haven't heard of him, check him out. A canadian hip hop/spoken word artist with such amazing presence. He played solo on the second stage with only a turntable and a mic, and completely got the crowd into it.
- I am not a hip hop fan, but I loved the Jay-Z set.
- also check out Airborne Toxic Event, they played a tight, solid set.
Lastly, I sure wish we could have gotten into the DJ Tent, pissed me off that you would pay $250 and not be able to see all the acts you wanted to. I may just end up at Sasquatch next year instead of going back to Pemberton, even though it was a blast for anyone that could handle all the logistical blunders.

in The Pleasure Of Watching Spain v Sweden In An Irish Pub on EPL Talk
I think some euro-snobbery is into play with saying that Euro 2008 is vastly superior to Cope America 2007. Last year's Copa America was a firecracker of a tournament, and while Euro 2008 has heated up starting with the Netherlands-Italy game, those first two days were pretty dull.

Harold Ford and his wife have the same skin color. Let's not pretend that Ford isn't mixed-race like most African-Americans.
Whom he chooses to marry is his business.

Wouldn't it be better to recognize the Lovings and their heroic efforts to stand up for their right to love and marry?
Who cares whom Harold Ford married?
Mildred and Richard Loving were terrorized at 2AM when their local sheriff barged into their bedroom and hauled them off to jail. Imagine being pulled out of your bed and arrested like that. A pregnant woman dragged out of her bed and dumped in jail.
After going a "trial," the judge banished them from the state of Virginia, away from their only home, family, and friends.
Let's not lose sight of their struggle.
