Quick heads up. You say they will offer 300x250 ads, etc. they actually won't be able to on most apps if the apps check off the option "Use entire canvas width" which gives them a 760px canvas vs a 646px before.
But the thingwill be, does the new interface reduce ad CTR or improve them? Multiple ads there could be detrimental.

those of you who registered yesterday did it during the public registration. There are problems on both the land rush and the public registration processes.

I think Goji berries are good, but they are a bit bitter/dry when I tried them. Can't they be farmed somewhere closer? Buying hyperlocal is tough, but you should check out norman brothers market on 87th ave and sw 76 st. they source mostly local. Or drive down (or bike) to homestead there are incredible farmers markets down there. while down there check out knaus berry farm in the redlands for some INCREDIBLE sticky buns and fresh fruit.

I wonder if gummi berry juice was really goji berries.... maybe we could try making gummy bears from goji berries... superfood & delicious!

nick did you see the app obama has? its embedded on their fan page, but anyone can put it on their site too. not very complex, but better than this.

first off, don't ASK people to follow you. You are either interesting or you aren't. I screen all new followers for a day or so to see if they are worth following/interesting enough to converse with.
Second: don't pimp your products constantly.
third: respond to threads, create your own ideas too
fourth: try to contribute at least 10% of what you consume.

The flash has been around for a while. you had to add the flash player app to your page. It still is click-to-play though, no auto-loading flash.

Realistically in your app, you need to be measuring where your users come from. So as to optimize as much as possible. Depending on the nature of your app you can probably determine a good ratio of news feed leads to profile leads and finally to invite/notification leads.

the platform is maturing, so we're definitely at a stage 1.5 i would say in terms of what apps will gain traction, and maintain use.

Well mybloglog seems to have disappeared from LOTS of sites, so I wonder what their reach is like.

Also how hard would it be for someone to create an fb app, set people's cookies, then tie it into mybloglog or a clone?

I'd find real profiles (not the spam i've seen in MBL) of people I know more appealing.

This is more of a play for Attention profile data, and thats the key for yahoo having bought them.

Finally! I've been saying this for months. OpenSocial is closer to OpenGadgets or GoogleGadgets Platform for the web. We have to start distinguishing between a widget, and an actual App on these networks. One is far more robust than the other.
Relatively complex applications can be built on the facebook social graph, the same case cannot be said for opensocial yet.

Glad everyone isn't drinking all the google kool-aid/anti facebook kool-aid

I think $5k is a bit much for 600 daily active users.
The application needs to be completely overhauled. But the 250k installed base is very attractive.
