in Home Garden Makeover & Redesign to Grow Your Own Food on Raw Food Switch
Hi Nathalie,
Your garden looks great! And...it looks like it's warmed up a bit in the last month too! We re-did our garden this year, add a bunch more vegetables than in the past couple of years. I really can't take much credit though...it's my wife who's been daily caring for this plot of land! Enjoy all the yummy goodness you'll get from your time here...

in Is It Necessary To Go 100% Raw? on Raw Food Switch
Hi Nathalie,
Good stuff! I'm somewhere between transitioning to more raw and raw before dinner. For me, this is a good mix I'm happy with right now. And I'm not beating myself up if I occassionally have something that's not the best (as long as it doesn't become a habit).
Now...just waiting for our garden to grow!!

in A Reaction To My Wife And I’s Story on Simple Marriage Test
Thanks again for sharing your story. The truth is, we're all human. We all make mistakes. That doesn't have to mean the end of something great. And there's certainly something to be said for honesty. While not always easy, being honest with both ourselves and our spouse is what can lead to that true greatness of each other being experienced. I appreciate your honesty in sharing a part of the journey you've been on...

in Thanks To The Love Of My Wife on Simple Marriage Test
Hi Corey,
Thanks for sharing your story. Marriage isn't always easy. Sometimes we can think that others have no problems, or that everything just falls into place. Rarely (if ever) is that the case. I recall a certain point in my marriage where I became withdrawn - and my wife became very much a rock in our married life - fighting to bring us together on a deeper level. Marriage is worth fighting for...

It's amazing how strong women can be. The idea of them being the "weaker" sex is pretty far off from the truth. Thanks for sharing your journey Lance.

in Persuade Someone in 5 Steps on Persuasive.net
Hi AJ,
Persuasion is an area that I battle with - so this is good stuff! I think a key for me, and maybe this goes without saying, is that I believe fully in what I'm trying to persuade someone on. The idea of building rapport - while I've thought I've done that in the past - the truth is that I'm seeing here many ideas that I can do to really help build that rapport. And with the key being that I continue to focus on this all being very genuine on my part. Awesome stuff AJ!

Yes being genuine is always key. I make sure that I clarify to my readers that you shouldn't have to make up lies. Gandhi said something about always telling the truth because remembering your lies takes too much extra energy.

in How Martial Arts Teach You To Overcome Perceptions on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,
I love your story of how martial arts indirectly brought on confidence! What a great place to get to.
For me, it's been the sport of triathlon. I started this about four or five years ago. And I remember being unsure of myself, and especially of my abilities in comparison to the mix of competition at the event. And what I found is that people genuinely want to see you succeed. And in events that are difficult (swimming!) - I could dig a little deeper within myself to push through this (and not drown!). And when I was tired and didn't think I could go any further, I didn't stop, I found a little more strength to continue on. And while it was great to finish the triathlon - that feeling of "I can do this" even when it seemed like I was out of everything - reminds me yet today that, in life, all is possible - and it's just how important it is to me. And that's been a great lesson.
Kudos to you, Nathalie, for picking this back up. I know it will only make you better (and not only in Tae Know Do...).

Hi Nathalie,
You're going to do great! And I'm not just saying that like it's "pie in the sky". I believe it from what I have experienced here. And by the fact that you're acknowledging these fears upfront. Of course, doing great doesn't necessarily mean things will be exactly as hoped (maybe, maybe not). I think you'll adapt to whatever may come up.
Nathalie, I appreciate your honesty in this post. It speaks of things many of us fear as well...often silently.
Know that I'm here with any support I can offer.

in Gratitude Monday #4: Traveling On Earth Day Edition on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,
It sounds like you've had a wonderful week - and seeing about the veggies you've got going, this is reminding me that it's time for us to get some things ready for our garden...
This week I'm grateful for being back home after vacation. While being away is nice - there's also something very comforting about that place we call home. And I'm grateful for the friendships I have, and for what all these people mean to me in my life. And lastly, I'm grateful for beautiful music. And this past week - that meant not the typical music I listen to - instead a real mix of songs performed by ten year old kids putting on a concert about everything they've learned recently about Wisconsin - and all put to music. Wonderful, in so many ways...
Thanks for this weekly reminder, Nathalie, of all we have to grateful for in our lives. I can't help but feel a little extra bounce in my step after visiting your Gratitude Monday posts! (so, I'm grateful for these, and you, as well!)

Hi Nathalie,
I love this idea - being grateful! And thanks for sharing how your life has been impacted in wonderful ways this past week.
I'm thankful for a great soccer practice that I had with my team of 10 year old I coach. It was one of the best practices we've had in the last couple of years.
I'm thankful for reaching one year of blogging. It's been an amazing journey, and one I'm so glad I embarked upon. So, along those same lines - had I not begun my blog I would never have gotten to know you Nathalie. So, there's another reason I'm thankful for having started my blog - is because that's how I've had the opportunity to meet you, - which has been a gift as well. I'm extremely grateful that our paths have crossed...
I'm late here, I know it's Tuesday - and it's a glorious Tuesday because YOU are getting me thinking about all the good in m life. Thank you Nathalie!

in How To Find The Opportunities Among The Possibilities on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,
I love the analogy here - between the stars and how that relates back to clarity. In fact, it reminds me so much of a vacation we took last summer, out to "middle of nowhere" Idaho. Rafting for four days. No roads, no towns, about a dozen houses, and a few other rafters - that was it. And at night the sky was so amazingly bright from the stars. As I lay there in just my sleeping bag on a sandy beach, no tent, just looking up at the stars - I was amazed at how bright they were. And how it just made me realize that slowing and and getting away from the normality of daily life - allowed me to see things differently, things that had always been there (the stars physically, my own thoughts and dreams in a more mental/spiritual state) - but had been buried because of daily life.
This was such a positive force in my life - these four days, and really the nights, after everyone in camp went to bed - when I really became connected with those stars - and not just their light, but the light from within that they also represented.
So, Nathalie, this is a wonderful story - more than that, though, it's a story of a life lesson we all can hopefully learn...

Lance you have such a way with words, and your inner light shines brightly through to all of us who read your words.
I can totally relate to the "no towns, just a couple of houses" area, and what it can do to help you find clarity. I once brought my "cousins in law" to this same type of place, and they grew up in a big city in China. They were just in awe at being able to see the stars! I think it was also a transformational experience for them.
Thanks for sharing your transformational story.

in The Hidden Costs of Cloud Shoveling on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,
It's gonna catch on - focusiness...you're starting a revolution here - it's just a matter of time...
So...yes, I've shoveled clouds - too many clouds! This all reminds me of a concept I've read about in the past by Stephen Covey - one of the quadrants in our life is the important but not urgent. Because it's not urgent, it becomes easy to put it off. And that's what I see when I think of more 'down the road' goals. They are very important - yet easy to pass on for now - because it all down the road...until pretty soon we've reached that road, and haven't done anything.
What I think you covered so well here is the idea of specific, measurable, and actionable - having these areas covered makes success much more likely.
And - there's a company out there (the one you're now working with) who's lucky to have you - you're doing it right Nathalie! Best of luck with it all...

I think you're already well on your way, I know because I've read your writing, and it takes some motivation to get that out there and into the public's hands. :)

in Eating Raw Food In The Winter on Raw Food Switch
I'm packing all raw foods for lunch today Nathalie! And the thing about eating like this is how good I feel versus when I've eaten junk-type foods. Lunch shall be delicious today. I know that I'm getting most of my raw food from far-away places since I'm also in a northern climate. I'm okay with that, and I'm really okay with what might be perceived as higher costs. I like to think long-term, and the health benefits of eating healthy now will be a cost saving in doctor visits down the road.

in No More Goody-Two-Shoes on Billionaire Woman
Hi Nathalie,
We can get into a mindset of how something has to be done - because that's the way it's always been done. Or that's the "right" way to do it. Or, other ways have failed in the past, and this hasn't. And where does that get us if we follow all of this, all of the time? It gets us the the same place. So, Nathalie, I'm proud of you for taking off that pair of shoe (the goody-two's) and slipping into something more unconventional. What a great discovery you had! Sometimes the best place for us to go on our journey through life is off the trail that everyone else is on - and to blaze our own...

Ooh it's always so exciting for me to read about other people's gardens! It's really great that your wife has a passion for taking care of the garden on a daily basis. I know sometimes life can pull us off the gardening path, but luckily a garden provides so much joy (and food) over time that it's worth it. :)
