in 8 Reasons Why I hate MacBook Air | ixibo on ixibo! Technology Blog
So, don't buy it.

I don't hate the MacBook Air, but I'm not going to get one myself. That's because I need a faster processor, more ports and a bigger screen, and weight and size aren't that important to me.

However *many* people never use their optical drive on their laptop when they're away from their desk (even I rarely do). Likewise many people don't need the ports, faster processor, or larger screen. For this niche, the MacBook Air is a really great product at a premium price.

Think of it as the Macintosh G4 Cube, only with the thought that the design also leads to function (in terms of mobility).

in What’s in the iPhone 2.2 software update and beyond on VentureBeat
Actually, they could fix the way receiving an MMS works now on the iPhone. That is to say that they could make it so that when you receive an MMS, you get a link that when clicked on, sends the ID and password to the server so you don't have to look at the text in the message, write it down on a piece of paper and then enter it in Safari. This would really help, and it's all a back-end fix that wouldn't require a firmware upgrade. They should do this *today* while they deal with whatever issues that resulted in them not including MMS on the iPhone to begin with.

in New Macbook Pro + Wired Keyboard = Trouble on ATLChris
Restore your new MacBook Pro from Time Machine from your old MacBook Pro, or as a clone from your old MacBook Pro (Protip: use FireWire Direct Mode).

Once you've restored, then use the system disk that came with your new MacBook Pro and re-install Leopard. This is the way you should *always* migrate everything from one model of Mac to another model of Mac. If the Macs are the same exact model, you can just do the restore. Otherwise, you may be missing some of the drivers and patches that only apply to the previous model.

Chris Lentz When I reinstall leopard, what method of install should I use? I am guessing achieve and install, but will that erase my data?

in Will the Scobles wait in line for 3G iPhone? on Scobleizer
It was fun camping out last year for the iPhone. I suspect Apple will do *something* to make the event special this year as well. It's all about making the early buyers feel like celebrities going to a premiere. It could be free t-shirts, give-aways, or something. It may even be that there could be scarcity, or fear of scarcity like last year. Things are different now that Apple has to distribute the phones around the world.

in Exclusive first look at new Zude mashup capabilities on Scobleizer
Zude isn't the only one trying to mash this all up. The mere fact that there's the need for mashing up information from social networks...and believe me, I hear that there is all the time...is a sign that there's not enough there there. Another way around this problem would be consolidation of the networks. The problem with that is that people choose networks FaceBook, MySpace, etc... and platforms like Twitter based on personal preferences of how they work, where their friendlings are (or could be), and by subtle differences in their personalities.

This combined with business reasons for lack of consolidation makes this a giant problem which hopefully Zude or someone like Zude can resolve.

in Dear Steve Jobs on Scobleizer
Personally I couldn't be happier with my iPhone (purchased on day 1). The one thing that kind of surprised me is that I thought Apple would've done more software updating by now.

in 20 Apple iPhone Mysteries on iPhone World
Another unanswered question...

Will the phone support video out and does it use the same audio/video 1/8" mini-plug?

In the demo, Steve never showed video playing out of the phone, instead he showed hacked demo which put the entire display of the phone on the screen.

This may be an obvious "of course it does", but it hasn't been stated specifically.
